"The mind needs colour" ulog entry no.4

My son is at present, visiting Colombia and has been sending the family lots of photographs and videos which have been a great delight to me as I love to see how life is in other countries.
His partner is from that part of the world, so they went to visit her parents and other family members.

The first thing that struck me was how colourful everything is - the houses and shops and restaurants as well as the clothing that is worn by the locals.
In addition to this, they seem to play music a lot - even in the streets.
There is a happy hustle and bustle all around and although the locals do not live in lavish homes, they seem to me, to be very happy people indeed

The weather is sunny every day (that would suit me) and if you go to the food markets, there is such an abundance of fresh fruit and vegetables - many of which I could not identify but would love to try.
Again, the colours in the food market are amazing and look delicious.

All of this made me think of how important colour is to me.
I like rooms that are well lit and colourful and I will not wear certain colours as I find that they depress me and I am happiest in my favourite colours.

My spirits are lifted when the sun is shining and I do not enjoy grey winter days.

From a very early age, I found that I associate the days of the week with colour - a different colour for each day of the week - for example, today is wednesday and in my mind is red.

I have often wondered if other people feel as I do - but regardless, my mind definitely needs colour in order for me to feel good.

I can’t say I’ve ever associated a day with a color - that’s fascinating that you do! I agree though, a little bit of color really lifts the spirits.

Indeed it does.

Thanks for sharing, @lizziesworld! Through your writing I can imagine Colombia and its vibrancy. There's really something about places like Colombia or Mexico or Brazil or Cuba; these places are just lively and colorful it makes you wanna dance!

I hope you can visit Colombia in the future and see its beauty up close and personal. Cheers! 😊

Thank you and yes, One day I may be lucky enough to visit there.
