We are in the Accumulation Zone peeps...

So, as I've been saying for the past few days right now is absolutely not the time to be selling any STEEM. You are practically giving it away, pennies on the dollar as they say. Of course, this is not financial advice and people should do their own research, make their own decisions, but all I see is people freaking out at the moment, giving the tokens away sort of speak, as if the end is near.

If you are on coinmarketcap hitting refresh every two minutes, then you are hurting your soul. How do I know? Because I've been guilty of this too. Listen, its not like refreshing the page is helping, there is no counter that is adding value to your tokens just because you hit F5, so at least you must admit you are not being very productive.

You know what makes no sense to me? - These guys, these tiny sales that I'm sure don't belong to whales, but surely belong to people freaking out. In other words, those who 10 STEEM might make a big difference in the future. So, instead of growing their influence now, tightening the belt a little bit, they gift it to the whales on a silver platter.

I guess this is fine. After all there is a reason why some people never grow. Maybe I just have to learn to accept it, but honestly it becomes really hard for me to do so. This is not very logical, it's not even selfish. Yes, that's the right word, the long term selfish thinking is turned off, and the thing that until now has dominated their lives, the thing that has kept some of these people from reaching their goals is in full force.

That sounds like I'm being mean, but the truth is not pretty at times. It is, what it is. Right now when Steem Prices are so low is the time to be thinking about accumulating. That is the only thing you should be thinking about. That is if you want to play the long game. You should be commenting more, you should be posting everyday you should be getting creative, participating of contests, you name it. Anything and everything.

I'm putting my SP to work

I'm moving some of my SP around, and trying to accumulate as much as possible. But honestly, I'm not doing so because of all the sudden I became this blind greedy person, but because I'm recognizing an opportunity. That's exactly why. I mean think about it. How much SP was made when Steem was 10 cents? - You know those whales you sometimes look at and you think - "Wow... look at all that SP, that's just amazing" Some of them, grant you not all, made a lot of their STAKE when steem crashed.

You read that correctly, STEEM crashed before. There was a massive exodus from what I'm told. It went from being $4 USD all the way to 7 cents. (Insert punch in the gut)

What would you have done? If you had all SP become pennies. How would you see your life? Your purpose? How would you feel about everything you've been doing up until now? - That my friends, that is the crazy part. Because those few brave ones that stayed, those who kept on posting, those who kept on participating of the platform, those who didn't slow down, but the opposite did more. Those are some of the "big accounts" you see today.

What does that tell you? Is this maybe a short term tragedy, but a long term opportunity? It could be, It could be. But, if you are fearful, if you let your emotions get the best of you, you wont be around to find out. I think that's crazy. I don't want to be that guy, I don't want to be among the guys who saw opportunity and misidentified it as the end.

I'm going to set a goal for myself and I hope you join me in doing so. My goal is to get to 8K SP when October rolls around. I think I can do it, I think it's reasonable. I remember thinking 5K was years away, and I crossed that mark in 10 months. So why not, Why not celebrate my Steemian birthday in two months with 3k SP more. Is it crazy? maybe, but I think I can pull it off. I want to pull it off.

I remember @sykochica telling me a long time ago that it's obviously great to want to help others, to want to give others. But, what happens if you have nothing to give? What happens if you work so much on giving, you forget about building something to give? - I think that truth sinks in the deepest in moments like this. Because I get to have another chance, another go. For how long? I'm not sure, I actually have no clue. But until then, full speed ahead.

Of course this does not mean I will move my delegations from @helpie or nothing like that drastic. I've simply reduced some of my delegations to other minnows, and put that SP to work for a month (for the moment being). If the market stays low, if Steem lingers at this valuation I should be able to hit 6K SP in two weeks tops. Like I said, I'm going all in on this.

Why am I writing this? What's the purpose? - Honestly, I hope that others join me. I hope that if you happen to bump into my blog, my crazy writing you think to yourself "Can I do this too?" - Then, set yourself a goal and hit the QWERTYUIOP hard. Maybe not literally, but you know what I mean. Participate of the #openmic, get your blog on @steempress, learn to upload on @dtube on @dlive. Learn all the tools at your disposal. And of course!!! Don't forget, this is very important...

Have fun!

Hence why other's grew faster than me, because they understood the dynamics better.

This is where I need to improve. I have a very rough understanding of how the platform operates and in order to take full advantage I need to dig a little deeper.

Once I come back from vacation I will definitely start paying more attention to contest because you are the second person I've seen make that recommendation.

You joined the perfect little group to help you understand it. Hence the name... :)

You're just the daily cup of motivation I need to get my psyche up for the day! I'll have tou know it's #MinnowUprisingJuly, organized by @taskmaster4450, the goal is to leverage the platform as minnows and get as much of the reward pool as we can get. The target was to mobilize atleast 10,000 minnows to take part and post atleast 3-4 posts per day however I haven't seen many people take part which is rather unfortunate. I am averaging atleast 3 posts per day so far, aiming for 4-5 in the coming week to hit my 120 monthly goal.

It's motivating to know you actually did 5K in 10 month! Did you ever invest anything from your own pocket? By October I would like to be at least half way to being a dolphin if not one. So 2500SP is the goal!

Cheers M.

glad you are feeling motivated elsie! that was the ninja plan here... I got some delegation coming back to me in 6 days. When it does I'll keep on doing my part to curate more effectively people who are putting in the work..

cheers

Gracious Weekend @meno!
Did you know Meno is Swahili for Teeth? :D

Now I must make sure my smile is impecable... i had no idea... hahahha

omg.PNG

Hahaha! That's what's up! Cheers

I am trying Dlive but so far no upvotes yet lol hahahhaha

But you are right meno this is the time to get accumulating! I am almost at 1k SP

GO MAV!!! I BLESS YOU WITH THE POWER OF AVOS!

This is correct time to accumulate rather than freaking out. But liquidity of steem is important for growing of community know?....Most of the steem is accumulated in steemit accounts as SP and only some steem is rotating which is not welcoming for newbies..

Its rough when you first start no doubt, but it's not impossible. I'm proof. If you've not joined a community I would encourage you to do so, it's the best way to network and garnish support from others.

Will be you be more specific what do you mean by community?? Are these discords or telegarm channels??....

There are lot of contests businesses curations bla bla....I don't know any of them...I'm just concentrating on my blog....that's why it is taking time for me to gain reputation.

Another thing:: lot of steemians are automating website and standing ahead other steemians even though there articles are not worth.

I hope you don't take this the wrong way. I thought if I concentrated on my blog I was sure to grow my account fast. It's really hard to do, its best to build relationships and participate of contests.

It might not be what you want to hear, it might even anger you. But, its how things work today. I thought it was different too, I really did. Hence why other's grew faster than me, because they understood the dynamics better.

😀😀...why I will be angry friend. I like agrumentative discussions . That is life Funda....if you make realtionshops, engage with people then you grow otherwise you don't. I met some good people here. Hope you will be one of them😊😊

If you are on coinmarketcap hitting refresh every two minutes, then you are hurting your soul.

Even twice a day is too much for me, esp. when I look back to 2014 and imagine doing **** differently :(

Don't worry overkill we are going to choke that bear soon. I can feel it.. I can feel it my imagination inside my brain.

idk what happened, the F5 stopped working.. it won't pump coins anymore.

Hey! Let’s do an ICO for tokenizing that F5 button!!! We can create our own bull, no??

OMG... genius @overkillcoin , lets do it.. we need a logo!

hahahah

Proof of Refresh?

it runs on the anxiety protocol: ermahgerd

😂😂

My account growth is pretty slow, but I keep plugging away at it, hoping to accumulate more SP. With no fiat available to invest in steem, I suspect my growth will continue to be slow, but as Cope says, "it is what it is".

Well, Cope could make Steem moon. We've seen him do it before... this time, he can help you moon, but just you. You just gotta tell him.

Good idea! :-)

Preach!!!

Yeah man, I love posts like this because it reminds everyone that reads it...Now is the time to push forward, stock up and not retreat.

A big chunk of those with the larger account totals did so not when SBD and STEEM were 7 bucks...But when it was 7 cents.

There are days I cross my fingers for a dip so I can buy more than I budget for lol But then I start getting greedy and want to see STEEM back at 5 bucks...

Regardless, stick with it! You'll be glad you did...

I know you will probably agree Jon. You being a vlogger and all. This whole experience has improved your skills. So if anything in that sense its already a win. Am I right?

Oh man, has it ever....And continues to do so. Every day, trying to get a little bit better....So regardless of money or earning, this platform has allowed me to grow and reach out to audiences I did not have the opportunity to previously. Win win all around.

I completely agree that we should take advantage of these prices to become more active and get more access to SP at these prices. I have definitely notice a pick up in the amount of SP I’m getting from curation even whixh has motivated me to remain active despite rewards coming down. However, I think it is unfortunate how many users cannot understand these concepts and quickly become demotivated and stop engaging. More posts like yours are needed! Thanks!

Precisely why those who do, should make some noise! Hence my attitude, hence this post, hence this conversation, hence this hencing.

;)

So true!
Oh man, your SP just sucked out more than 0,70 cent out of my upvote ;)
But you & your posts are worth it , and i set myself the goal for min. 1000 SP for 2018! Let's go! ;)

"Because those few brave ones that stayed, those who kept on posting, those who kept on participating of the platform, those who didn't slow down, but the opposite did more. Those are some of the "big accounts" you see today."

"What does that tell you? Is this maybe a short term tragedy, but a long term opportunity?"

That's right!!! get pumped - It's accumulation time!! hahahah

I'll be happy to see you hit 8k, and I don't doubt you'll do it. Credit where it's due, you're a prime example of what to shoot for on Steemit, and by far in my top favorites to follow in terms of content and conversation.

I started enjoying myself more here when I stopped looking at the price tag. Doing so defers you from the community and the mindset you need to be in to actually make it work in your favor. The ebb and flow is part of the game. When you stop constantly checking your wallet/coinmarketcap, you get far fewer disappointments, more frequent pleasant surprises, and a much more authentic, positive agenda.

As always, thanks for the read!

I do enjoy our conversations in the comment section to my friend. Btw you should stop by our little discord one day. I know you are a busy man, but, you could stop and say hi.

Absolutely dude, hit me with that join link

I asked someone who used to convert their STEEM to fiat every week ...why are they doing that instead of HODLing.

They told me that it helps them meet the ends of living expense and they can't afford to not cash it out...

them bills gots em

Some people are struggling big time, I get it... but, I also have to ask- What were they doing before Steem?

That's not a trick question, it's just one to invite introspection.. because at these prices, they are really robbing themselves from an opportunity.

True that...

Think I can get to 10k before you get to 8k? I'm only about 1400 ahead now so I'd need to gain some ground.

You totally could Poly, but... the race is on!! hahahahah a friendly competition of course. I'm going to explore the @steempress dealio and I would suggest you do the same my friend.

It's fun posting a comment and reading others article but it's more fun seeing your sp grow day by day.

hahahah of course I know what you mean.

My goal is to get to 8K SP when October rolls around.

With luck, we’ll have another Steem crash between now and then. 😏

I doubt I’ll hit 8K by October, but maybe by the end of the year?

I kind of say yes, and almost wanna say but.. but.. but...

Emotions get in the way of logic... I rather this price last a little longer and then we go up.. not crazy fast, we know its not sustainable that way, but fast enough.

Can I do this too? Can I, since I've Been here honestly I did no know nothing, anyone told me how to use this network even I thought @cheetah was a good friend of mine.

But honestly sometimews I think that I can, it´s too hard, some user are mean and doesn´t know that they are breaking the system.

A system that gives good friends, good news, good content.

8K is a lot and someday I´ll be there, I hope you be 88K when I´ll be on my 8K´s.

Well if I got an upvote of a whale on a 100 % maybe I´ll be on 88K and you on 8K.

Everything is possible on Steemit

I just posted something that should get your mind racing. My best attempt at written spanish, had some help to make it seem intelligent.

Read it, let me know what you think.

My goal is to get to 8K SP when October rolls around

That's a great goal to head for, but unless you are quite rich or want to take gambles (like me very recently), then you will need to:

A) Hope STEEM plummets in the next few months
B) Buy it now if you think we are near the bottom.

Either way, I give you applause, as you are on the same wavelength as me.

In relation to:

Participate of the #openmic, get your blog on @steempress, learn to upload on @dtube on @dlive.

Yes, that too... I can sing (or so my wife tells me!).. but cant play.. so no OpenMic for me.. steempress? I have been using esteem but am up for trying it, dtube and dlive...? maybe dsound first... I need to start off easy.

They are all incentives though... I wish tasteem would return.

No reason why you can't an initiative of your own Slobber... no reason whatsoever!

Powering up is the right thing to do. I'm doing all I can to build my account, it has been difficult but I prefer to have a vision for the future instead of being afraid for the current situation with cryptos

that's the healthy attitude ikar... if not you can drive yourself crazy... I almost speak from experience.

very good. I will help you with some comment curation :)

thanks

Well as long as we're all still here, I'm game. Gotta stick with an oldie but goodie:

Ffs, don't invest more than you're willing to lose. It's still a risk in the end.

But I think we've evaluated the risk and we believe in the platform, and that's why we are willing to put more.

As long as there is a healthy active base, and that base is increasing, there is hope. I know there seem to be scary numbers about retention rates but I haven't fully dug through them to know if they are saying anything meaningful or not. I don't really care if big whales are powering down if more active users have appeared. But let's see.

As long as there is a healthy active base, and that base is increasing, there is hope.

Honestly, that is why even youtubers like the cryptoinvestor who is usually quite blunt in his negativity believes in Steem long term. He insults steem and then he puts forth the big caveat...

You've seen him right?

Huh? Insults steem, but believes in it? Never seen 'im, but i'll go look him up haha.

Edit- I saw, he's an active steemian himself it appears ;) and his video is still fairly positive. I saw the point about users, so that's cool.

Yes Eon, so we can self flag in peace as we always do.

yes! always a hopeful voice. i, too, am accumulating and would love to reach 5k by the end of my first year! (will be in december) also with the steem price low, usually we get more SP and steem in payouts, which is actually more lucrative (given the price rises again) than in the high steem price days. it makes sense for me to just keep plugging away and accumulate! cannot believe that past massive price drop though- the people who persevered through that deserve every steem!!!

Exactly the way to look at it... they seized the opportunity!

Exactly the way
