ULOG: #3 for Week 19 - Sometimes PWD's and Seniors Can Be Frustrating

in ulog •  6 years ago

I went to the city to do my monthly grocery and buying of supplies and maintenance medicines. I also bought other things. When I do the groceries it is easier for me to push the cart so I can have support and I can rest a little.

I have deep vein thrombosis or DVT so my legs tire out fast especially if steady standing. It is better for me to walk slowly than to stand still. So when it is time to pay I sit on the senior pwd benches and when it is time for me to place the groceries, my companions usually get the chairs outside by the cashier for seniors or pwd.

As I was getting to the line I saw a vacant chair just as I was going to get it another senior took it. I said it was ok maybe she needed it. But what I saw was not what I expected.

She was already in a wheelchair! Her companion could have raised the leg part if she wanted to elevate her feet, and she still had her dirty sandals. She could have at least removed them. Now who would want to sit there next? Even the bag boy and cashier was looking at them and asking if they really need it. But they pretended to be deaf and blind.
I even said that they could raise the leg part. They saw me with my cane but was a blind mute. I thought her groceries were already being checked out, I was ready with a tissue and alcohol. But gosh almighty they were after the one still checking out. They could see I was having a hard time. If she really needed it I would not mind but she had a comfortable wheelchair. Sheesh.

So I just stood there walking back and forth a little so my legs won't get numb. The bag boy tried hard to look for another chair but one was being used too (really needed it too). I really appreciated their efforts and they tried to make me laugh. when I looked at them again they were wearing dark shades OMG hahaha.

The only bad part of my day.

Even the lady standing beside the wheel chair looks like she needed to rest, but she is standing beside someone who is luxurily using an extra chair while others are suffering.
its sad when people only think about them selves. Sad how selfish humans can get.

Smile dear. And have a blessed night.
