It's the start of a brand new day. Yesterday, I spent 17 hours dreaming about school and dad. When I woke up, I was totally disoriented. I am now married. I got up at 4 PM in the afternoon when we were supposed to be driving to Ipoh for the day.
Now the whole 2 days is going to be as hectic as I can make of it.
In another 4 hours, I am driving to Ipoh. Get the baby hamsters dropped off. See BabyBoo's parents. Have chapati at BabyBoo's Punjabi friend's place. Then drive back by 3 PM to see my psychiatrist.
Singapore Writers Festival
Tomorrow, we need to get BabyBoo's Canadian visa application visa in before we head to Singapore for the Singapore Writers Festival.
I just printed out the online tickets. We are on our way there.
This year is rather not so happening because there doesn't seem to be any big names there at the festival. But maybe I just don't know how big they are until I go and hear them speak.
That year when I went for the festival, I didn't know anyone like Marie Lu or Ken Liu. So it's not surprising if I go there to find myself amongst big people I just don't know yet.
NanoWrimo Malaysia
NanoWrimo is about to start this coming November. I am getting myself all prepped for the event. Write out the first draft of the novel. Then go through all the necessary steps to get myself a literary agent. It sounds easy doesn't it.
It always sounds easy until you actually do it.
My deadline for Ops Rowling One is August 31, 2020. I have tried to get a gang together on NanoWrimo to work towards the goal. I set up a Slack Channel to network. 1 person signed up but hasn't spoken since joining.
I am bracing for a lonely journey which almost every writer takes.
It's just plain simple. Write. Read. Learn. Market. Get an agent.
How hard can it be?
