I get a call on friday saying " the doctor wants to recheck you blood levels again. And afterwords The doctor wants to go over it with you" I say OK and she scheduled an appointment for Wednesday at 9 am for the blood test and 11 am for the doctor to make sure the labs are done. Ok good to go got it. I know it was going to be a brutal day with that schedule for me but I am willing to suck it up. To see if the results are better worse or the same. That's important information to have.
On wednesday I go into the VA for blood test at 9am. They only take two vials of blood. So I ask the guy taking the blood, "what are you testing for" He states "a standard sample" Now I know this is not correct and will not cover the items that need. So bells are going off in my head and I check in for my doctors appointment at around 9:10 or so. I am not upset and taking it all in stride.
I sat there in that waiting until 11:20 . when the head nurse from team 13 pop her head through the door and turned pale when she looked at me and went back inside. 3 min later another nurse came out and called my name. took me around to team 5. I said I am going to do your blood pressure so you can go. then stated the I was there for blood pressure check because I started the new drug 4 days ago. I told her I do not know anything about taking that drug.
Now this is where it all goes to shit and the real me comes out. I feel so bad for that young woman because she took the blunt of this. She went and spoke to my team who conned her into seeing me. she came back and told me that they sent her back and were not going to see me. And that she does want any part of this. poor girls knees were knocking together. I thank her and went straight for team 13 when they saw me coming through the door the ran into one of rooms and locked it. I have to laugh now about that.
My poor wife was tugging on my arm the whole time and just wanted to get me out of there. We went home, I was hurting so bad I had to lay down. when I got up I got all my paperwork on all the events that lead up to this and they were overwhelming with facts. At 8am yesterday I starting sending emails
with with copies of my report to all admin people who were in direct supervisor position from top to bottom. I received so many calls from supervising doctors wanting to resolve the issue. and today received the disciplinary report for the nurse. I did not expect them to go as far as it did.
Had a great conversation with my doctor. Have a meeting on the 4th. I guess they are worried about if I was satisfied with the actions they have taken. When they called for the appointment I ask if they apologized to the nurse who saw me from team 5. They did speak to her.
Well that's how the last couple of days have gone. They sure did hurt me. This all goes to show you that good record keeping is a must. Plus having access to all in house communication on me, its all recorded helps.
I have been doing this post for the past 4 hours. I need to lay down, and that's will happen next. I will answer all comment just as before with the same 0.01 vote. I hope you have dustsweeper to bring it above the dust. It might take me a little longer But I will get it done.
I thank you all because you make hard times like this much easier to deal with. I will get through it. right now I am looking at gallbladder surgery. thank the lord it might not be the liver.

When I read your posts about this sort of thing it just makes my blood boil! You are handling this much better (emotionally) than I would. Good for you for keeping good records and keeping them handy! I know gallbladder pain can be horrible. I hope they can fix this for you, and quickly!

No, I went a little far. LOL
Where it made the difference was with the asst. Director, that's where I hope it will help other people.
The nurse will go through admin discipline procedures and has been moved to where she is not around patients. So some things are working out.
This week is more test and yes it is brutal. Not going to be around that much and that I miss.

That's another good thing to have, email addresses of important people!
I'm surprised, pleased, and impressed at this quick action with the nurse.
I've been hearing that the VA is now taking this sort of thing seriously, employees who don't treat people right. (You'd have thought they'd be doing this all along.) Moving her where she's not around patients, what a good idea!
I don't know how you feel about prayers but you'll have mine.
Maybe you could ask your wife to post some updates for us? For sure we'll all be pleased when you're feeling good again!

I was surprised also. I was very detailed with my e-mails, direct and to the point with what my next step was.
Yesterday I went to my wife. sweet just pouring off me. And she had the nerve to tell me. "what you going to give me a hug, I don't think so". So I put her in time out for a week.
She put me back to bed. I don't think she understands what time out means. LOL
She would not get on here. and that's OK

I think you are fortunate that she doesn't get on Steemit!
Speaking as a wife, brother you are cruising on the thin edge!
Plus, if she can put you to bed when you don't want to go, well I think that's what we'd call job security!

The medical system as a whole is totally messed up...then deal with government run healthcare and it's FUBAR.
Sorry you are dealing with all this bs and guess I'm hoping you need gallbladder surgery...seems like an odd thing to hope for but livers are pretty critical and hard to get a replacement for.

yea I know, have couple more test to narrow it down so absolutely sure on what's going on.
Liver is bad news. gallbladder you can cut it up and put it on the hook for fish bait. lol to many items are pointing toward gallbladder. It is kicking my arse.

Surgery always has risk so seems odd to be hoping for one...lol. But like you said the gallbladder isn't really all that important so lets hope that is it!

LOL yea. but if it has to be bad let it be that cause it could be be worse. I have been through this with most of the other organs. but never before blood test so bad. That is one reason I am in no rush. I am just so tired and thought process is not there where it should be. two big tests next week. we will see how it goes.

The VA really needs to fixed. You'd be better off on Medicaid is most states 😔That is horrible. I just hope for the lesser of the 2 evils.

Government healthcare and employees. They sure jump on my charges quick. That's a good sign.
not ready for any surgery yet. still testing to narrow it down. Have to be sure before that can take place.

I don't know how I'd ever have to deal with the VA. It's one of my dreaded fears. I've known so many veterans who just got the runaround. It's a crazy system. You are dealing with it well.

Government medical services are headaches and they will try to circle you around unless you stand up to them. It is frustrating that you have to wrestle with them before getting appropriate attention. I did so a few times already even when I was not the patient. On the other hand, private medical services could kill instead of heal you because of their very expensive charging. I wonder why good quality and reasonable cost are hard to combine. At least that is what I see here.
Surgery alone does not sound good to me but yes, gallbladder is better to lose than liver. I hope the best for you. You said you'll get through it. That's the spirit!

Don't kid yourself healthcare cost is the same for both. Only difference is someone is forced to pay others bills. That's why obamacare failed and it also drove prices up. people should be able to get the coverage that they need. and across state lines. A 19 year old needs to have hospital coverage and not abortion coverage.
Right now I can get 24 hr routine coverage for only $65 a month. This does not cover hospitalization.

Sounds like a joke, yeah? I hope it is but it is not. It could be totally different in your country but as I said, it is what I see here. And if the hospital knows that you have HMO plan, they find their way to squeeze you with the charges because to their reasoning, the HMO will pay for it anyway.
