Ulog #11: I am Sharing A Simple Celebration of Our Love and Togetherness on our Wedding Anniversary!

I woke up to the sound of my phone beeping. I was kinda surprised to find out that it was a text message from my husband, @islaw.

Last night, he woke me up in the middle of the night, exactly 12 midnight just to greet me a happy anniversary. Normally, I would be pissed, me being disturbed from my beauty sleep. But today is different. Uhm, why is it different again?

Oh right, today is our wedding anniversary! Yehey! It is our 9th already, but it feels like it was only a year ago. Lol.

Reminiscing

Looking back, it was the year 2009 that we decided to tie the knot. I remember the overwhelming feeling of preparing for a wedding. But i am glad all things went smoothly.

Me wearing that bridal gown, and him all dressed to kill. It is nerve-wracking when you walk down that aisle, all eyes on you.

Yes, we were the celebrities then.

We have known each other since college (well, that wasn't so long ago, was it?) and as I reminisce what we have been through, I am just so grateful that we ended up together.

Feeling the Love

At our midweek Bible study, it was heartwarming to be greeted by our brothers and sisters. They almost couldn't believe that we are already on our ninth year. It was fun how they still vividly remember our wedding day -- the wedding ceremony, the dress I wore and when hubby sang a song. Yes, time does fly and it seemed that it was only yesterday.

After the midweek Bible study, my parents decided that we celebrate our wedding anniversary. They invited us for dinner -- their treat.

As soon as take our seat, we were greeted by our daughter with this:

Your the best!
Happy 9th Anniversary

Isn't she sweet? Heart melts.

Now back to my parents' dinner treat, they said that they are grateful and are happy that they see the couple in us who is willing to sacrifice and make an effort to make the family life convenient and putting spiritual things first.

My hubby and I actually have no plans to celebrate it. I mean, no grand celebration but only a simple dinner at home. You know, just let the day pass; making an excuse to have a celebration on our tenth anniversary instead. But this dinner just made our anniversary a memorable one.

Grateful Reminder

Grateful for having spent another year of being together. True, married life have its own challenges. But today has been a wonderful reminder of the love we have for each other.

Looking forward to spending more years. Looking forward to more anniversaries. I wonder who would treat us next year. Lol.
