My wife stars in our own movie called 'Dancing with Moose'!

Living on the land is beautiful and full of hard work.  But there are days when all there is left to do is sit back, enjoy the beauty and laugh at life.  This morning a cow moose decided to waltz through our front yard.  She is large, beautiful, powerful and amazing.  With our dog getting old and with the temperature jumping between -40C and -30C today, she stays inside.

Color photo taken from inside our earthship at about 9:30am MST.

Now the moose are comfortable walking through our yard again without being assaulted by our dog.  She was alone and we both felt privileged and giddy for seeing her near our home.  Then the unexpected happened.  Two hours later we saw another moose.  This one looked like a yearling bull.  Must of been her calf from last year as he followed the cows tracks, step for step.

All of these pictures were also taken from within our earthship.

What a treat.  Well obviously the moose spirit is trying to tell us something, so we decided to look up what the message is.

Know that you are a whole, perfect, beautiful and loving. - Moose (source)
"Know and understand that you – and only you – have the authority to make your own choices in life. You do not need to feel ashamed or pressured in any way by your friends and peers in that what you choose is different from them. Stand strong and proud and own who you are! Your individuality is your strength." - https://www.spirit-animals.com/moose/

That spirit message outlines almost exactly what I've been sharing with people for years.  How fitting is it that moose paid us a visit to send us this message.  Ahhhh, but moose was not finished with us.  Late this afternoon Carey walked over to the neighbours while I remained at home.  A few minutes after she left I saw her running back into the house, out of breath and in a complete panic.

She informed me that she was nose to nose with a moose on her walk.  She was absolutely terrified as moose are well known for attacking people who get too close.  They are huge, powerful and dangerous animals and we have a great respect for them.  We both thought that the cow moose would have wandered off by now and neither of us gave any thought to the moose still being in the area.  I decided to get dressed up to escort her to the neighbours.

Sure enough, there she was, still in our bush, standing on the trail, grazing on the willow trees.  So we made some noise so that she would go deeper into the bush and surrender the trail to us.  She complied and trotted off towards the north.  But there was still junior to worry about too.  So we continued to the neighbours but did not see junior anywhere.

When Carey returned home we ended up having a belly rolling laugh about the whole incident, especially the point where Carey and mommy moose had their near collision on the trail.  I'm grateful to Creator and mommy moose that everyone is safe and sound, blessed by the encounter and nobody was injured during the day!

We are the land.  The land is us.  The moose spirit is our brother and we are all here to learn how to share this land so that all life may prosper.  I feel blessed to have this experience today with the moose that shares this land with us.  We are not the only ones living here.  We share this land with moose, deer, elk, wolf, cougar, coyote, fox, woodpecker, grouse, squirrel, ants, countless trees, plants, animals, water, air and Mother Earth herself.  We are intimately connected to everyone here.  Our lives depend on one another figuring out how to find equilibrium within this ecosystem.

We have worked hard and I finally feel like we have found our place among the spiritual beings on this land.  They all have welcomed us into their family and I am honoured to stand here as a steward to work hard to protect all that we have accomplished here.  These relationships are demanding, challenging but also extremely rewarding.  Thank you moose spirit for sharing with us that we are on the right path and acknowledging the strength of our individuality and the choices we made as a result.  Thank you for the blessings and lessons you taught today.  We respect and honour you.  May Creator bless you all with similar teachings and lessons.

What a beautiful encounter! I haven't seen a moose in person in decades, but I remember the awe they inspired. Thank you for the lovely life lesson too.

They are beautiful and unique animals. We get up close and personal with them at times. They are indeed awesome!

I was hoping I'd come across this meme. I took a screenshot. Your story gives me the reminder of the circle on the right.

Yup. We are the land. We are not separate from it at all. Land ownership is slavery.

That's just perfect!
