This is a true representation of the actual positions of the stars in the constellation of Hercules. The map is taken from Norton's Star Atlas and then digitally altered. Our sun, which is an ordinary G-Type star, is travelling at 200 miles per second directly towards the centre of this region of space, dragging the Earth and the rest of the planets along with it.
It really is accurate and it's true. The Earth spins on its axis and orbits our star, the sun, which drags us along...
The motion is rather like a strand of RNA, a helix. Hardly seems like it on a totally still Autumn day when you can hear individual leaves falling to the ground.
Another high res. image.
I said the sun is an average G-Type star. There's quite a few types. I once learnt a mnemonic for them. The whole sequence is called the Hertzsprung Russel sequence of main stars and this is it:
OBAFGKMRNS
Here's how to remember it:
"Oh, be a fine girl, kiss me right now, smack"
I give you that for free...
have a nice day...

Thank you Peter, almost sends your eyes funny that piccie.
Something I learnt form Ben Davidson at Suspicious0bservers (youtube) is that there are stars out there where the temperature is no hotter than a cup of coffee....... crazy eh? LOL

It sure is :)
btw, I've had to pause my 'steemvoter' account (excessive voting power drop) so apologies if it appears I've gone 'quiet' for next 24/48 hours.
Rob.
