in unreal4 •  6 years ago

Hey guys, a new post regarding my game update and state.

Exploring nighttime feature in my PC game: Geryon. Testing dynamic day time to add more depth to the realism and the overall experience as you can expect to spend lot of time exploring for hidden stories and clues around the world.

This is looking really lovely, @manthos ! The lighting and detailing of the environment seem on point <3 <3 <3 makes such a wonderful depth to the world's probable explorable spaces :D

Thank you Lise! I'm still paying around with lighting and day night cycle but this seem to work well so far regarding how well you can see in the dark areas and such. I'm glad you like it and excited to be sharing more updates soon!

Thank you so much!

I've been going out of my way to avoid some of the interesting games coming up but...I might have to try yours when it's ready to be played XP

Haha, thank you my friend! I'm really humbled :) and no worries, mine is still long way off!

Very cool lighting changes! It almost seems like that fire is affecting lighting as well! That mountain fortress is looking epic!

Thank you again Alex! I'm trying to work around dynamic real time light and day time so it affects properly surfaces and environment! I'm glad you like it and tons of more to come!

How much of this is the engine and how much is you? I don't understand much about game design, are you changing numbers in the code or are you shading pixels more like photoshop?

I wouldn't mind some process photos throughout this experience!
