WHY WAS I GONE FOR A WEEK?

in untalented •  7 years ago  (edited)

HELLO FRIENDS!!
it's been a week of not talking here in the community

What made me busy? Why was I gone for a week? Where did I go? How I've been? RELAX my dear friend, I wasn't gone for a health issue. I was gone for a very lovable surprise. Unlike my dad's mother, I didn't really grow up with her, nanang (it's what we call her) left the native land with tatang three years before I was even born. I was only be able to meet her eight years later. Although I haven't seen her back then she sent balikbayan boxes full of goodies and there is video camera where you go in front of it and say thank you with the pasalubong you got from the box (one of the good childhood memories).

although my Mac is a little busted I will still use it because I miss the community in here =)

My grandmother (my mom's side) celebrated her 80th Birthday last 21st but before the year starts, everyone already planned to give her a surprise birthday party. On the day of her birthday, everyone acted like there is no planned. We let her plan her own birthday two Sundays ago.

She asked me to buy Jollibee bucket meal (of course, we do have Jollibee in here and I feel so lucky to have a close one. Some states you need to drive an hour just to get to taste of the Bida ang Saya). Nanang asked other members of the family to get other foods, like the Crawfish with Cajun sauce - a best seafood we always get at (Boiling Crab, a restaurant found only in chosen states).

ON HER SURPRISE BIRTHDAY PARTY' PREPARATION

A week before 27th, everything was plan well. Everyone has his/her own committee, for me and bro ours is the slideshow for nanang to watch on her party and not to forget the decorations. Throwing party here is way harder than Philippines, why? Because you do it by yourself. Luckilyy my family is big, so we have our own rule to deal with especially that nanang is the makulit lady and matanong lady. I must admit everyone of us had a hard time to do this surprise. My lil cousins even said "it's very hard to lie to nanang, I don't know what to answer her questions."

  • This is Friday Night, when we started doing the decorations and some ingredients cutting.

THE REAL DEAL

Nanang deserves the best because of her efforts, hard works, sacrifices, pains, and everything she've gone thru the years. She might be at the age where we can say old but still kicking, works chores at home and tries to do everything for us her family as long as she can handle it herself. We some times even stop her from doing those things because she might end up hurting herself.

Nanang deserves more than this surprise for her.

Aren't they lovely? Nanang and tatang have been married for fifty-nine fruitful, lovely, happiest and BLESSED married life.

  • And of course, the in laws.

How very positive to see nanang and tatang happy in front of not only to her family but to all her friends and other relatives. And feels so great to see her beautiful smile with tatang. It's a feeling that can never be bought and never be replaced. I am so blessed that I belong to this family, I was able to experience to have a big family. I have a balanced family, my dad are three siblings and my mom they are eight. Thank You so much to Almighty for showering me such this kind of loving and full of happiness family. I know nanang had one of the best days in her life.
