Wisdom blesses the sensible people: For the upright will live in the land, and the blameless will remain in it. Proverbs 2:21

The Holy Scriptures constantly teach that men need science to live, because many things that appear before the eyes of man are deceptive, and that is why those who follow first impressions are deceived and headed for failure. And a clear example of this is the search for happiness, happiness is presented to the reason of man as an end but it is not, happiness is a return of wisdom, and this is one of the greatest teachings of the wise.
And the Book of Proverbs, which is a sapiential book, that is, a book dedicated to the study of wisdom, intelligently shows what common sense consists of and how men should act to achieve the true goals of human life.
Basically, wisdom is the art of living sensibly, and for this reason, wisdom is the source of all true blessings for man, wisdom blesses the sensible people but rejects the foolish.
Wisdom shows that there are two paths to live and that it is up to man's freedom which path to choose, and this teaching is deeply integrated into the history of the people of Israel; God blessed the patriarch Abraham and his descendants with a promise to inherit the land, and so God some timelater sealed a pact with the people of Israel through the prophet Moses.
And this pact had important consequences, because the Israelites would receive the land, the region of Canaan, if they lived the commandments of God with reverential fear and wisdom.
The Book of Proverbs synthesized this pact with intelligent words, words that had an impact with the destruction of the kingdoms of Israel and Judah, but also words that encouraged hope with the mercy of Cyrus the Great who freed the exiled Jews:
"Thus you will walk in the ways of the good
and keep to the paths of the righteous.
For the upright will live in the land,
and the blameless will remain in it;
but the wicked will be cut off from the land,
and the unfaithful will be torn from it" Proverbs 2:20-22.
