Upvoting your own posts. Do we get penalized for it ?

I notice that many users upvote their own comments and posts.
does this reduce our reputation score or value ?
is there anything negative that could happen if we do this ?

Downvoting a post can decrease pending rewards and make it less visible. Common reasons:

  • Disagreement on rewards
  • Fraud or plagiarism
  • Hate speech or trolling
  • Miscategorized content or spam
