Thumbelina was stolen by a toad to marry her son. The heroine managed to deceive them and flee. From the water lily the May bug helped her to fly away, which then left her alone in the forest. If the wedding took place, Thumbelina would have to spend her entire life underground. From the marriage poor thing saved the swallow. This heroine found the bird in the mole's home. She saved her from death and helped her to fly away. The Swallow was a good friend for Thumbelina. She, having learned about the trouble, took Thumbelina with her to warm places. There, a little girl met an elf and healed happily.
