To all the new people on Steemit, remember that your vote counts. Don't be a hoarder and maintain your vote strength in the 90's, get out there and vote on your fellow content creators' excellent work.
Don't be afraid to sap your strength, for you likely don't have much to begin with. Those who have joined the steemit community at or around Hard Fork 19, I am certain that someone has told you that voting 10 times per day is the proper way to conduct yourself. This way you'll only pick the very best content to curate and maintain your vote power.
Throw that rubbish in the bin. Say your full strength, 100% upvote is worth .08$, that really is not a big upvote, in reality it's pretty much piss. So what's the difference if you upvote more often and your vote is only worth only .04$ or .02$? I know that the answer is a few cents, in many ways I would prefer to receive your two cents than not receive your eight cents. Does that make sense?
Wearing your vote power down to 50% or less is not the end of the world. If you vote 40 or 50 times a day, you'll likely find equilibrium somewhere between 20% - 30% of vote power, you will still be able to kick out a few pennies to deserving authors and far more likely to leave a decent comment.
I know that I reward all the decent comments on my page with a 25% upvote, which nets the commenter anywhere from a three cents to a nickel. Those with deeper pockets tend to "tip" their commenters even more. There is a payoff to interacting with your fellow steemians and the more you do interface, the more likely that an established account will take notice of your account and potentially upvote your quality posts.
Limiting the total number of upvotes that you distribute in a day, only limits the growth of your account. Since HF19, the level of interaction and comments seems to have diminished palpably. I attribute this to the large influx of new steemians that have been convinced that 10 upvotes per day is the right way to use steemit. It is not the case. Go forth and be prosperous and share your love on some quality content. It's what makes the platform function so well.
I have been wondering about this as I have been upvoting some great content and quickly went down to like 20% voting power which ended up being $0.0 reward for the post. Even worse I upvoted one post and its value dropped $0.20c? What's all that about?
It has stayed down and I have virtually no steem to power up. So the only thing I can do is leave you a comment and resteem this very useful post. Maybe some other people will see it and follow your idea.

Thanks for reading @molometer. The negative could only be from a decline in steem itself that caused that.

What like the general steem value on the market? I saw that it has declined to $1.30 over the last few days. I seem to have some steem in my account but not enough to power up?
