Why the US Military Needs to Intervene in Venezuela

in us •  8 years ago

The US govt repeatedly states a profound commitment to assisting people in the struggle to live under a democratically elected govt.

Check.

The US govt has several times stated a willingness to intervene with military force in Venezuela, due to the presence of a dictator and the distress of the people. The poor people. That's the only concern. How dare you even imagine the slightest possibility that such intervention might have anything at all to do with ridiculous amounts of oil that US companies currently have no access to!!!

Got it. US govt cares about the suffering of the Venezuelan people. Humanitarians they are.

Check.

We should all get behind the US govt in replacing terrible dictatorships with democratically elected govts. Yep, I'm with this.

Check.

While we're replacing terrible dictatorships, let's give Saudi Arabia a look. Women still have no rights, they behead more people than any other country in the world (please let me know if this is wrong), they've gone to war with their own population because they worship the right God but in the wrong way, are currently waging war against a country that has never attacked or invaded anyone (check the ludicrous non-stop bombing campaign in Yemen, mostly against civilian targets), and are a hideously corrupt dictatorship (pronounced Monarchy. Sure they're the "royal family" and "princes". Not dictators at all).

If you're going to replace the dictatorship in Venezuela with a democracy, let's start with Saudi Arabia. Let's get a democracy in there first.

Doesn't sound like nearly so much fun anymore, does it? Hate to bring logic to a Deep State party. Kills the mood.
