Since Trump was so stupidly dumb enough to fall for Britain's Theresa May's chicanery about "poison" and with no evidence whatsoever that the Russian Federation was involved in this poisoning, he booted a pile of Russian diplomats out of the US. The Russians have retaliated by closing down the US Consulate located directly across the street from my former residence in St Petersburg.
What a fiasco! I saw this one coming a mile away. A similar thing occurred between the Brits and Russia 10 years ago.
These tit-for-tat episodes hurt no one but us regular folks.
Now both Russians and US Expats will be greatly inconvenienced and have to make long trips on overnight trains and book hotel stays in Moscow for consular affairs.
That US Consulate used to be dammed handy. Drinking with the US Marine Embassy Guards located in it was always good entertainment, too.
But I will always regret the night I let those boys talk me into taking them to the infamous and exotic Marstall bar, with the Embassy's SUV.
I still wear a scar on my chin from that.
That guy was built like a mountain. I should have walked away when he said that all the women at my table were his wives. ...And come to think of it where the hell were those Marines when I needed them?
And to top it all off Yulia Skripal, who was poisoned with the nerve agent in along with her father, is improving rapidly! Hopefully her dad will too.
Oh...and M16 & the CIA have this poison too, btw...and both, unlike Russia, actually do have motives to use it!
Trump - I think you just got chumped on this deal.
