What Will I Learn?

• The software application VCV Rack installed
• Access to the Internet

• Fundamental plugins installed
• NYSTHI plugin pack installed

Description

This is the forth of five tutorials on Complex Simpler. There are many functions in this sampler and we carefully cover each one in these five tutorials. Be sure to refer to #1, #2 and #3 before doing this tutorial.

Learn the functionality of the internal LFO

In a previous tutorial I showed how some variables in Complex Simpler can be controlled by an external LFO. Complex Simpler also has an internal LFO. This LFO controls the Speed of the sample playback. The LFO has a frequency control and an amplitude control as well as various waveforms to choose from.

Learn the nature of the various LFO waveforms

The internal LFO has Sine, Triangle, Saw and Square waves to choose from. Each of these will produce unique results.

Learn how to adjust the Mod Index

There is a Mod Index selector in Complex Simpler which allows us to select any of the waveforms. This selector also allows us to gradually morph between waveforms.

Learn how to adjust the LFO frequency and amplitude

There are two dials controlling the actions of the LFO. One is the frequency and one is the amplitude. This directly changes the playback performance. In the tutorial I demonstrate the results of changing these dials.
