The FTP client software I will use in this guide is FileZilla, FileZilla is a popular free FTP software, it supports a variety of operating systems and is easy to use. How to Install FileZilla FTP Client

To use this FZ FileZilla software you have to download and install the software on your computer.
Please visit the official FileZilla website and download the latest version, with LINK

Once your file is downloaded please click 2X on the file to start the installation process. You will see the Lisence Agreement and click the "I Agree" button.

The next step you should choose if you want to install FileZilla for use by many users or just for your own use. In this option I choose to "Anyone who uses this computer (all users). and click "Next" button.

Next you have to select the components of the FileZilla client you want to install, you can tick all the options. If you have please click the "Next"

In this step you are prompted to specify the location where you want to install the FileZilla software. If you want to set by default, please just click the "Next"

In this section you just click the "Install" button and wait for the installation process FTP FileZilla Client Finish to show the words "FileZilla Client has been installed on your computer" and click the finish button.

How to Use FTP Client FileZilla

To use FTP FileZilla please open the FileZilla FTP Client software so it opens as shown below

In the picture above you can see the look of the FZ FileZilla software, To connect the FTP software with your hosting server, please enter (Host, Username and Password) at the top of the section I marked red and click the "Quick connect" button. You can get the login information from the provider, with LINK that you use and usually at the start of your hosting purchase sent FTP login information included in your email.
If you do not already have FTP login information, please feel free to make your own through your hosting control panel, there is an FTP menu. You just need to enter username and password then FTP login information you can use. If you use iPage can see the tutorial create an FTP account, with LINK.

FTP client folder

After you successfully connect with your hosting server. You will see a row of folders and files in the right column or panel. In the left panel is the contents of your computer and on the right is the content panel of your web hosting server.
In this example I will try install wordpress which I have downloaded to my computer and already extracted (see left panel column) and I will upload it in the "Themes" folder in the right panel. To enter the folder is to click 2 times on the folder then it will open. If the position of the folder is correct please right click on the folder you will upload and will appear menu for "Upload" as seen in the picture above. Or you can also drag and drop directly on the file or folder you want to upload from the left panel to the right panel

After the "Upload" button you click then now the process of uploading files and folders is in progress and seen the status of the upload process at the bottom like the picture above. Please wait until the upload is done file transfer. If the process is complete then it will no longer visible status upload process seen at the bottom. There you can also see the number of successful files in the transfer or files that failed to transfer.

To see if I managed to install Themes WordPress Twenty Seventeen via FTP then I immediately log into the Dashboard of my WordPress and look at the Appearance »Themes menu. And below this new theme looks already installed which means I have successfully installed the theme via FTP Client FileZilla.

The picture below shows you how to download files and folders from the web hosting server to your computer, the process is the same as the upload but turn from the right panel to the left. There you can also create directories, create files, edit files and change File Permissions on your website files. With this download you can use to make a backup on your site.
