I'm learning how to make use of apps. In this contribution to my game I used the Github Desktop Application and Stencyl.

Github Desktop is very useful in syncing changes of your files and codes onto the master branch. Previously, I was uploading everything onto the website manually, which was a pain in the neck. Stencyl is a game maker that makes use of more simple ways of creating games, license I'm using is free. I plan to subscribe to the $200 premium license once I get a hang of making games so that I can publish these games onto different places like the AppStore for iOS or in Google Play for Androids.

Recent commit is really big and contains lots of files changes but I got help from Stencyl in creating the game. This is just Phase 1. Steem Cannon now looks more like Space Invaders than what was originally planned. Just look at this:

Original Concept by @deveerei

Now, it looks like this. This is not final though but it will looks something like this, same concept and physics. Space Invaders. Lol, it's named Steem Cannon but it's currently Utopian-themed. I guess I'm really bad at making decisions, anyways. I'm still working on it, would appreciate all your input for this game.

Test the Game here!

We will be updating this game constantly on my free time. As of the moment I've used edited kits in there, you will see the following changes in the future:

  • From edited stock cannon to a customized cannon/tank.
  • From stock aliens to themed-enemies, original plan is to battle other social media sites.
  • From 1UP bullet to a more suitable bullet. Haha thanks and sorry @flauwy.
  • From stock background to custom ones.
  • From stock tile kits to custom or use multiple pre-made kits.
  • Sound improvements. I honestly don't know if there's sound, it wasn't accepting the MP3s I added, I need to create ogg files.

I'm going to make sure Phase 2 will have more in it.

Screenshots of custom behaviors in the game. This is harder than how it looks if you haven't had enough study.

Stencyl has tons of tutorials that I need to work on reading. To learn more about developing games. Possibly publishing my own games in mobile stores and stuff like that.

Does anyone have any ideas for a Utopian Game?

I've enjoyed making this game. It's still a mini game for now. Everything starts mall though, with enough time, effort and support and help from everyone, we can make things bigger than it is now. Join the Steem Play Discord. Steem Cannon Game will be part of the Steem Play gallery. Thanks for reading!

Thank you so much @reggaemuffin! I will be spending most of my free time trying to study this application. I'm very interested in it. My goal is to make a game like and make millions out of it, lol. Like what happened to Flappy Bird. It's a very simple game and that guy got tons out of it.

Hoping and praying here for your success @deveerei :D kaya mo yan bro! God bless

very nice! @deveerei it's admirable how you find your ways to implement these ideas.

Googling stuff helps a lot. Also, free time in the office and a non-stressful work environment helps. I actually run out of stuff to do at the office cause work isn't that heavy most of the time. Thanks! I just need to learn more about these things. I'm just touching the surface of this subject, very new terrain for me.

Looks like Stencyl is a good game dev IDE. It's pity I want to make Android game and I can't afford the licences.

$200 is a lot to shell out. Hey, I have an idea for you. Make games, tons of them. Utopian.io will take those in if you make them open sourced - I bet it will be enough to cover for the license after making contributions.

That looks like a good idea. I will see what I can do about it. :)

This is why you got the Idol Award Dev! Wow you constantly amaze me!

Thanks po! I guess, I'm resourceful. Maybe cause I'm really lazy that I find lots of ways to make things easier. :D

Great and amazing you have post,,, i have share your post,,,

OMG this game just gave me a total flashback to being at MKE (airline brats know what that means) I was telling my brother about this place. He told me first so I could check it out and he's like play it and WHOA! He's telling me no you need to go over here. Do you need to kill that one first? I'm not even sitting straight in my chair and I cleared 2 boards. HELL YEAH!! My brother's like, what if I want to modify it? There's the code, download the editor. Oh now he's reading the post...thanks for this magic moment.

Thanks. :) This is open source. Anyone can modify the game. I suggest use Stencyl though, since it's easier. I'm still working on it so I can improve it. I'm new at this. Glad you like it!
