Some improvements to social chat app |Part 1

Components

Social chat is open source project which is basically developed to make conversations easier. You can search for people using the app directly from the add friend icon which will help you make and meet new friends. It's a nice app but needs a lot of improvements and additional features which I'll be able to presenting to you.

Proposal

The social chat app currently can only add friends and let's you talk to them. That's the only way you can connect. Some other features which I'd like to see here in social chat app are group chat and broadcast messaging.
In the image below you're shown how the apps homepage looks and as you can see you don't have any options to choose neither do you have any feature present except the logout and add friends buttons.

There should be an option available here where you can send group messages and broadcast messages.

In the image below you can see an example of broadcast messaging and group messaging.

There should be an option available in social chat where you can add new group and new broadcast to connect with people.

Benefits

Broadcast messaging.
You can communicate with a lot of people when you wish to send them a same message and get their feedbacks in person without others knowing unlike group messaging. You need not to write a message again and again to send it to many people. It will make sending same messages to many people easier and this is also helpful to many business related people who have to send details to a lot of customers or their employees.
Group messaging.
Having this feature in the app will let you create your own groups like groups for employees, groups for friends, groups for stutends, etc and talk and share messages with them to stay in contact with them. You can be notified of many things when you're in a group, sharing information about certain things which will help users develop more knowledge and also develop a stronger bond with other people.
