steemit UI suggestion - change color for "Reveal this post" link

in utopian-io •  7 years ago  (edited)

Components

This suggestion relates to the listing of "nsfw" (Not Safe For Work) posts in the steemit UI. I posted a bug report for this before because I thought it was a bug, but the reviewer said it was intended behavior. But since that intended behavior doesn't make sense I'm writing this suggestion post to change it.
When viewing posts under "My blog" a listing of a "nsfw" post can be in a concealed state, depending on the user's view settings regarding nsfw content. When a post is in a concealed state, a "Reveal this post" link is provided to reveal the post, however this link does not have the typical light green link color - it is not distinguishable from regular text. See screenshots below (one for night mode and one for regular mode):

The "Reveal this post" link is highlighted with the squiggly blue line. There is no visual clue that this indeed is a link, an actionable UI element.

Proposal

I suggest to change the CSS styling of the "Reveal this post" link such that it has the same color as other links, like the "display preferences" link in that same sentence/screenshot.
Furthermore I suggest to change the CSS styling on mouse-hover to slightly change that link color, again similar to the "display preferences" link in that same sentence/screenshot.

Mockups / Examples

Here's a mockup of the "reveal this post" link with the regular link colors:

Benefits

Implementing the suggested change removes user confusion. The current styling of the link doesn't provide a visual clue that indeed it is a link. The suggested change adds the desired visual clue.

Hi @syedumair, thank you for your review.
I don' t understand why the suggestion can not be approved: the implementation of this suggestion requires a code change, that is a technical aspect of the steemit/condenser project, isn't it?

  • Every minor change requires a code change but that does not mean the change is technical.
  • Suggestions related to background change, colour change, night/day mode etc do not count as technical changes.
  • Please read the rules carefully before submitting a contribution.

Thank you for the clarification.

I've read the rules but I could not find an explanation what is considered "technical" versus "process or organizational". Your comment provides some highly needed clarity.
