moderator application for Utopion.io: translation category
I have witnessed Utopian.io being born and have really applauded this project. The whole "blockchain arena" is based on open-source and the sharing of ideas. Up till now there was no clear way to benefit from giving your skills and time to any given project and Utopian is changing all this in a way that brings fresh eyes on the Steem blockchain and binds a lot of github contributors to this project.But for a while that was it, since I do not have any programming or coding skills I really did not think I had much to contribute even though I would read up on the project through posts that would pass on my feed.
So what has changed?
Well, I have discovered I can contribute through my language skills.Last month I saw this post from @reggaemuffin about a translation for minecoloniesI volunteered my time and translated part of his mod and wrote this post about it
Here is why I think I would make a good moderator for Utopian.io
I dug a little deeper into the translations seeing the big upvote I received but did notice that there are a lot of texts that are proposed that were just shoved into google translate and a lot of them got the same kind of upvotes. This seems to me that there are people trying to game the system and take advantage of the Utopian bot votes. For me this means that the ones that do make the effort and make proper posts and translations and contributions might not get their upvote because someone took advantage.
This is one of the main reasons for becoming a moderator.
The advantages I bring are some that I can really put to work on Utopian.io as a translator and that is the fact that I am from Belgium. This basically means I am fluent in Flemish/Dutch as a mother tongue and almost as good in French. Furthermore I lived in England as a child so English could be considered my second language. As an added language bonus I have been in a 6 year relationship with an amazing girl from Germany and our day to day communications are in German plus I live in Switzerland.Personally I have been working in the tourism industry for over a decade and have worked in teams and have lead them. I can be a team player and I really believe in what @Utopian-io is doing and would be honored to be a part of it
so in a nutshell:

So here are some articles/translations I found and my "would be comments to them"first it is really important to take the utopian rules and the moderator guidelines to heart so I had these pages open the whole time and referred to them to make sure all rules were followed.
