Frostwire torrent downloader as the name implies allows online streaming and downloading thus there should be a chart feature that lists top songs across the globe.

Components

The frostwire app is not just any music player. It is a torrent Client / MP3 Music and Video downloader which makes it easy for users to find contents to download without having to go outside of the app. Since this application has the connectivity, it is possible for the chart feature to be added but this feat is lacking on the app and it gets boring a times compared to others with the suggested feature.

Proposal

My proposal is that the developers should consider adding a musical chart of top songs across the globe to the music player that comes with this application. The global charts should atleast contain the top 10 songs and albums in each country or atleast for major countries like the US, UK etc. It could be more than just top 10 if need be.

Mockups / Examples

The feature should be built in a way that allows users to choose whether to listen to local files (ie already downloaded music) or from the global charts as illustrated on the screen shots below.

When clicked on the "global charts" button as on the first screen shot above, the songs and album tab that follows should be able to list the top songs and album for the day, week or month as shown on the second screen shot.

Benefits

People love to hear new music everyday, and the fact that this application automatically updates users with latest music as well as worldwide top songs is a plus to the brand and ofcourse a whole new level of excitement to users. Not only can one get these updates on new trending songs but can actually listen to them without having to go find download source elsewhere.
