It is the responsibility of all Steemizens to fight abuse when they see it.
One or two flags is not too much to ask to keep the price up, imo.
I give two or three flags as often as my vp and time allow.
I also make posts similar to this one to keep the concept fresh in your mind, dear reader.
I know it is working, I see you over there,...
Just because your vote doesn't remove much in the way of rewards doesn't matter, your chastising abuse helps reduce it.
Pointing out abuse, and flagging it, is how we keep the Steem price from tanking due to scammers immediately selling on the open market.
You are the eyes and ears of abuse fighters engaged elsewhere.
Do speak up.
You can, and should, report abuse here:

Their definitions of abuse are here.
If you want to get paid for your flags, you are in luck!
The fellas over at @steemflagrewards got you covered.
They have been fighting abuse daily since December, 2017.
Simply tag them in a comment with an abuse category from the below list, and viola!

Abuse Categories
Join the discord for a quick reference list in #definitionsofabuse.
Bid bot abuse - "Buying bid bot votes for content that is copy/paste or plagiarized, and significantly increasing the rewards.
Note that this category is a broad subject due to bid bots being so prevalent on the platform. Because of this, we will limit the scope to be used in conjuction with the Copy/paste and Plagiarism abuse categories.Comment self-vote violation - Leaving a favorable comment about the post, while failing to upvote the post and upvoting their own comment.
Comment spam - Comment has been repeated multiple times without regard to the post. One or two-word comments in multiple succession from a non-bot account.
Copy/paste - Copying material from any source that is not their original work with attribution to original creator without additional original content added.
Failure to tag nsfw - Posts should be tagged NSFW when they contain nudity, gore, extreme violence or anything inappropriate for general public viewing.
Identity theft - Pretending to be someone they are not.
Plagiarism - Posting content that is not theirs by copying it without verified permission from the original content creators.
This includes rewriting articles to pass plagiarism tools, which is known as "spinning" articles.Scam - Posting a scam designed to trick or defraud others. One example of that would be phishing, which is posting with intention of stealing account keys, passwords or credentials.
Spam - Repetitively posting articles/pictures/videos with the same and/or similar content, or recyling content after a period of time or across multiple accounts.
Spinning one's own, previously published content, is also considered spam.Tag abuse - Using tags irrelevant to the content, or using the introduceyourself tag more than twice.
Testing for rewards - Claims of “testing” but failing to decline rewards.
Vote farming - Churning out content in quick successions which receives upvotes of an unreasonable number and/or size.
This includes faucet delegation vote farms, collusive voting farms and other large groups that are voting on spam-type content.
The fellas are not the kind to just drop you in the deep end and want to emphasize that you must check the reputation and wallet of the account you are flagging.
Failure to do so could be catastrophic!
Some abusers are very serious about their beating us out of money and will retaliate.
In fact, some of them will force accounts to never get another reward.
So, flag the big guys at your own peril.
It is best to stick with folks with less sp/reputation than you have.
Leave the bigger abusers to the whales.
We do have remedies in the works.
If you get retaliation flags, ask in the discord and the fellas will point you in the right direction for some healing.
This project is open source, if you are a coder, and want to help, they are on GitHub.
Just search 'steemflagrewards'.

If you are having problems finding abuse, or just want to flag already flagged content, you can follow the comments in @steemflagrewards and @admiralbot.
When they comment something that still has rewards on it, you can take a bite of those.
When we band together we can deal with more, and bigger, abusers.
Stand up Steemizen, there are responsibilities attached to getting all those 'free' pennies.
Don't just ride on the rest of us giving up our vote power.
So, here are your 8 simple abuse fighting steps.
- Read lots of content.
- Recognize abuse.
- Ask in the Discord, if in doubt.
- Check abuser's wallet and reputation.
- Flag the abuse.
- Call the @steemflagreward bot, include category of abuse.
- Wait 7 days.
- Get paid!
But wait! There is more!
Each time you call the bot and get your upvote you are added to a list.
The bot posts this list when it has 8 distinct flaggers.
Each flagger is then set as a beneficiary to the post and you get paid for that, too!
Upvote the post to increase your payout!
These posts are available to be upvoted on @steemflagrewards' blog.
Add them to your autovoter, eh?
Even if you don't want to flag, you can delegate and/or vote their posts and help the community deal with abuse.
This benefits us all.
Thanks for your time,
FBA
Hey there @freebornangel!
Thank you for your contribution to the anti-abuse initiative. I hope this promotional material on @steemflagrewards will encourage the community participation against abuse.
Flags are expensive as they require the use of one's VP while giving nothing back to the flagger.
As abusers find ways to commit their acts, so will anti-abuse measures. Steemians can and will evolve with the platform.

That's one thing for sure. If you flagged appropriately and need to take the potential rewards down, they are great support and back up.
Thanks for highlighting the risks of fighting abuse. It's definitely a no-brainer to tackle one that can crush you. I hope the readers also noted the helpful hint of looking up one's SP before flagging.
I think you can be an effective marketing man. You even have an option for non-flaggers!
Lots of thank yous for your support!

I probably should've used their tag.
