[pyCoin] - Logo Design

I will briefly introduce PyCoin to you

https://busy.org/utopian-io/@avnigenc/pycoin-logo-design-task-request

pyCoin is a blockchain-based crypto currency written in the python programming language. Blockchain is a digital ledger in which transactions made in bitcoin or another cryptocurrency are recorded chronologically and publicly.

Unfortunately I haven't seen more information or extra news about the project

Details

I will share the PyCoin icon I've been building.
There are many iterations and finally there are some good looking icons with the python, now back to my entry.
I've tried to bring the letters together and create a logotype Icon for the project. Something to allude to strong, bold, reliable, secure, hence why the letters look so big and impose.

Benefits / Improvements

I have used big and strong shapes like the B in Bitcoin that has stayed relevant for nearly a decade, the Y symbolises the connection of the blockchain and the activity of it, how two parties can transact without trusting a third party, knowing that the terms will stay what they are and there is no need of trust.

Your contribution cannot be approved because it does not follow the Utopian Rules.

HARD rules broken:

  • "A contribution must contain .... benefits of your work to the project owner." - neon colors have very low contrast on white background. Small gaps are blurred in small size. No additional meaning besides "PY". Unrecognizable in small size.

  • "Logo design contributions must contain ... monochrome version"

Suggestions:

  • Dont put small text into images in your presentation.

  1. The black and white is in there. I believe you should really learn to watch before you type. So the google chrome logo is bad - the Adobe Acrobat Reader logo is bad - The Overwatch logo is bad - where do you get these ideas from? Lines can be adjusted when you resize!
  2. Neon colors are colors. There is no rule that state you should not use neon colors. And there are enough not neon colors in the example. The red version is good enough. You need one monochrome and one color. All the rest is irrelivant.
  3. The suggestion is nice but it only shows how well you inspect peoples work. RIGHT-CLICK -> OPEN IMAGE.

there you are ok not 2 seconds, 8 minutes ...

well facts are colors make a difference on a white background, contrast is better, other than that the shape is easier to read since not it's not PY in small size it's P, Y since it's been cut pretty heavily now.

dunno the logo is clearly better without the proposed changes, it reads better, it's more coherent, I'm sorry I picked a complementary color scheme to the steemit site and your outline, I'm sure it's a terrible pick since that acid made me stay in busy for good :) and next time I will just copy paste off oh forgot the C :D for currency ... silly me logo PyCoin vector whatever 2 23_0000.png

see it takes me 30 minutes just to respond, I'm wondering how much you took to review.

I've read all the rules and I've done everything, jumping through the hoops took me 3 days :)

  • Your logo outline and steem have terrible color picks then. The small gaps are meaningless in small size, they are there for detail on the larger sizes, on small sizes it's just PY in one yes, what do you mean additional meaning? if I had a C it would be coin right.... it wouldn't get crowded as a design, well I'm sure you don't like the bitcoin logo, it's just a B after all and has no meaning to people, it's just a B outlined with serifs above and below ...

  • I thought black and white were colors ...

  • What? I fail to find what important part is ineligible to you?! the copy pasted text filler?!, the fact coinmarket cap have text fields, or the fact I've linked a pretty eligible screen shot of how long it took me just to do the computer version of the logo.

+++++ The project has no real information about it, so tough luck there, I didn't want to just copy Python, I was creating a symbol for a crypto currency, something more "stable" and tough... If you had no information maybe you wouldn't have picked the worst color scheme, but when you are burnt out and it's the third day, also you are getting deadlined as always and as always there is no feedback and as always there is none around you but you when you need help, those suggestions you gave me above would have helped, although I'm not convinced. And I would label everything above as a suggestion, if those benefits are required by rules list them as such, they are guidelines that you yourself know of, that's about it, there are no rules in design. I also know for a fact colors can be changed in a second
