Components
STEEMIT FEED where we get to see the post of “just” people we follow. I find this ok but I feel it can be optimized for better user experience.
Proposal
I would propose that users be able to see posts suggested to them by steemit really based on
- The people they follow: Here say they follow people’s blog who publish investment contents; they should be able to see suggested related post on that subject on their feed that is most likely to be useful to them. This is going to be really helpful to both the reader and the publisher.
- Based on post they have upvoted most: Here basically relevant posts should be suggested to users on their feed based on the posts they have upvoted(liked) in the past.
Mockups / Examples
Here below is the way our feed is as at the time of this post. Being that we just see on the post of people we follow.
Here is what I suggest it should be, having relevant suggested posts that are going to be based on the user interest.
Benefits
If this is implemented it is really going to help both the content publishers and the content consumers.
Content consumers on steemit get to see post from other people (bloggers they don’t follow but that maybe relevant to them) that are of interest to them that maybe they would have missed. This is a great feature on LinkedIn. A lot of great contents are published regularly on steemit by great minds and a lot of want to consume these contents.
Also, the publishers are going to really benefit as this would help give their valuable contents good visibility. Helping, boost their reach, earnings and most importantly engagement. Nothing feels better than seeing people engaging with the content you put out. I know of somebody who most of the views he got for one of his YouTube video with over 10k views where found out to have come from “suggested videos” this information can be gotten from YouTube analytic.
So it’s going to be a win-win situation for both the consumers and the publishers.
Thank you for going through this suggestion post, hopefully it’s considered.
