Step by step tutorial on how to apply clone or inport android project from Github to Android Studio app.

How to implement it?

When we create an app, we will usually save the project into the storage folder, and if any changes to the project have been created it will be copied into a different folder for each change.

However, on this occasion we have no need to do such a thing again,

Why?

Because at this time already available a tool that can help us in arranging project and every change given. This tool is usually called VCS (Version Control System).

VCS tool we can use through intermediary applications such as:

  • git,
  • gitlab
  • github
  • bitbucket and similar applications.

By applying vcs we can easily apply the changes and restore them to their original state without the hassle of changing them manually. Applications used to apply vcs are also pretty much outstanding like github and bitbucket. By utilizing vcs tools we can also easily create projects together with others. although the project is made with others or in a team, but if you have applied this vcs then the project made between people will not be mixed or overlap.

For that, we as developers should know about this, because this will make our work becomes more easy and efficient.

Well, now we will discuss how to apply clone or inport project android from Github to Android Studio app.

The first step :

Make sure if you already have a github account, please login github web and repository or project android in your Github account.

If you already have an account and repository, in the project dashboard window select Clone or Download. copy the displayed URL, then open the Android Studio app.

Step two :

On the main menu android, select the menu Check out project from Version Control. then select Github as seen in the following figure.

The picture above shows the window view and form about the data needed for the clone project from github. Enter the url that you have copied, then set the project storage folder of Github clone or inport project from Github.

Third step :

In this step you will set the name of the storage folder, keep in mind in naming the folder should not be comparing space.

Then select Clone and wait until the process is complete and successful. If you have already clone or inport project Github, you can access and make changes to the project and apply it back into Github.

The way is quite easy just by pressing the save changes button on the top toolbar.

The benefit to this approach is that you can clone or inport your android project from Github to the Android Studio app. Only you can determine the application of your android project to github through an app. how easy your work is, relative to how easy you want your treatment.
