  • What is the project about?

X_Steem Note is a desktop offline application that allows you to write to, save and open files of different formats such as txt, rtf, doc, html and many other formats. Unlike most notepad apps currently in the market, X_Steem Note has been designed to be colorful and beautiful.

Existing Features

Currently, the app allows you to start a new note, save or discard text from the text area without clicking the delete or backspace buttons.

You can also edit your text via the Edit button. This can be done with the Copy, Cut and Paste buttons provided herein.

From the File Button provided, you can also start a new note or open up already existing notes in your document folder or anywhere on your PC.

  • Technology Stack

In the creation of X-Steem Notepad, the Java Standard Edition (SE) Programming language was used.
Netbeans IDE was used to write the codes and Java swing containers and other items were deployed via drag and drop.

This app was created for Windows OS version and has been tested on Windows 7 and above. It would need the Java Runtime Environment to install and run it.

  • Roadmap

X_Steem NotePad is developed by X_Steem Crew, an organization looking to enter into and dominate the open source market with different range of apps. As our first app, we have a lot of hope towards the growth of this app.

Currently, we have only been able to get our app ready as a desktop app which can only run on Windows OS without any glitches. However, you must have the Java Runtime Environment (JRE).

For the future, we are looking to implement several features. The first is:

A. Building a website: We are currently working with a few developers to get our website ready in no distant time.

B. Mobile Application: We aim to make the X-Steem Notepad best out there, thus we look towards creating a mobile app. We would kick off first with an Android App and then an iOS app.

C. Desktop App: Currently, the X-Steem Notepad works only on the Windows OS. However, we would be pushing it to other Operating Systems in no distant time.

D. Web Application: This is the hallmark in the creation of the X_Steem Note App. You probably wonder why we have "Steem" in the name of our app. Well, we are looking to finalize our notepad as a web application and editor, while linking it to Steemit.

We also hope to create a database where Steemians can save whatever they want to post on Steemit and retrieve it from the online database when needed.

Thus, with the X_Steem Notepad, users can create and save more than 10 different text files online, retrieve, edit and post directly to Steemit without leaving the current screen to their documents folder, MS Word app or desktop.

We have high dreams for this app and we really hope to achieve it as soon as possible.

In the business world, the rearview mirror is always clearer than the windshield.

Waoh, this is a very innovative idea 💡

Hi, this should not have been accepted as submitted projects must have some kind of unique value. I don't see what it provides that other open source notepads don't (it being colourful is not unique).

I don't want to sound too harsh, but I would recommend you do some more research on how you can provide value to the open source community.

Can you list some open source PC notepads? @amosbastian

I love the project and it being colourful and from what I read from the developer, he would make it available via steemconnect for steemians to save drafts and can also upload drafts to steemit
