Steem news updates and upcoming events

Today morning, when I opened my bittrex account, I was happy to see that STEEM was 40% up and SBD 126%.

But that made me wonder what exactly happened which caused such jump. Was there any news/announcement, someone new joined the board, Who knows. I was curious to know but had no time to google as it was office hour.

It would be great if we can have a news update and upcoming events section in the list in our the rightside dropdown. We can even plan to invest in STEEM and SBD accordingly . The pages can also have Twitter feeds in it.

I have added a screenshot for reference purpose.

        This is an excellent suggestion. It would give us all a better sense about the direction in which steemit is heading.
