Folders in Amazefilemanager do not conform to sort order

in utopian-io •  7 years ago  (edited)

Project Information

Expected behavior

Expected the folder and the files to be organised in an order of size, where the biggest come first, then the second biggest, and so on in ascending manner and the other way round in descending manner when the sort by size option is selected.

Actual behavior

The sort by SIZE order does not take effect on folders. When the option is selected, only files are reorganised but folders remain where they are.

How to reproduce

  • Download Amazefilemanager from apkpure.com

  • and launch the app

  • Navigate to any directory in the app.

  • locate three vertical dots that are positioned at the top right corner of the screen.

  • click on the three dots

  • from the menu select SORT BY

  • then select SIZE

  • choose ascending or descending to save your selection.

  • Now check the sizes of the folders, to see if they follow an order.

Tip: To check the size of a folder, click on the three vertical dots you find on the folder, then select properties from the menu.

  • Browser/App version: v3.2.1

  • Operating system: Android v6.0

Sort Order:

This is not a bug. The sort option is for sorting files by size, not folders. Folders are sorted by name. This is the way how it is implemented.

@espoem, exclusively for Amazefilemanager or generally??

Because in other managers folders comply to this order.
