The author of this contribution post is using an android open-source application named NCalc+. As he was using the said android application, he had noticed that “ it does not have a decimal separator and a setting in which the number of decimal places in converted value is to be shown ”. With this kind of situation, any user of the said application will be having a trouble in determining the right value of a specific answer on his calculations especially those involving decimals.

Example:

From 1,234.56789 to 1,234.57 ( if it will be set to two decimal places only )

Any user will be able to use the said android application better if the number of decimal places must also be shown. Thus, the converted value also exists. So for this contribution, I would like to suggest that the developers of NCalc+ should have some modification on the Settings Section.

Proposal

As the title of this contribution states, it suggests that the developers of NCalc+ should add a Decimal Separator and a Setting in which the Number of Decimal Places in Converted Value must be shown ”. Also, the maximum number of decimal places that must be shown and considered will be atleast eight (8) decimal places only. Lastly, since the maximum number of decimal places that must be shown and considered will be atleast eight (8) decimal places only, it must also have this so called limitations which says “ Syntax Error ” if the calculator do not have the capacity to give the right answer anymore. In order to make this suggestion possible, the NCalc+ developers should make some enhancement on their website from which this suggestion will be included and so as to be implemented. To make this suggestion easier to interpret, the author of this contribution post provided the current format as well as his suggested format.

Benefits

1. The said android application will be able to give an accurate or close to the exact answer for the calculations of the ones using it.
2. Confusions if the values of the calculated answers are “ right or wrong ” will be avoided. Unless the ones using the said android application made a wrong typing of numbers himself.
3. The number of users of the said android application will increase thus making it reliable, efficient and useful.
4. This new feature will be beneficial to both the managements and its users in the sense that both of them will be able to have enhancements and developments.
5. New development in the feature of NCalc+ (Android Open Source App) since it will be a new milestone to be achieved by the developers.
