Add search history and camera pointer features to the quickdic app.

Components

QuickDic is an open source Android app it is basically a simple dictionary it uses data from wictionary and beolings to generate dictionary files that can be used offline this can be downloaded from within the app. These can also be generated automatically through documentation for the process is currently missing. It is simple easy and fast . I was using this app for sometime. I saw some features were missing and they were search history and camera pointer.

Proposal

In this proposal, I am suggesting the addition of these two features which I stated already, first I will explain these two features:

  • Search history: This is the feature found in any dictionary app this feature is always below the search box , whenever we search something it remains in the search history which is below the search box, also we can clear the search history, whenever we want. I will show you an example:

  • Camera pointer: This is a feature by which users can open the camera and can point the camera towards any word written on any page. And the app automatically detects the word or phrase, and then simply explains it. This is a good feature and it must be implemented.

An example:

Mockups / Examples

Once implemented these features will look like this:

This picture shows the feature of search history.

And this one represents the camera pointer feature.

Benefits

  • Search history: The benefits of this feature will be the user can easily find the words that he had searched. Sometimes we forget " what was the word which I was trying to search yesterday". That's why a search history feature must be implemented.

  • Camera pointer: This feature will allow the users to point the camera towards the word or phrase. And they can easily get the results they want. This is an important feature and it must be implemented.

  • In the title you suggested a "online mode" feature but you actually did not explain or suggest any feature like that. Please make sure to pay attention for these kind of mistakes in your next contributions.Thank you.
