As the term defines itself in a manner that open-source model is a decentralized software development model that encourages open collaboration and the good thing is that even @utopian-io is open source and built upon an decentralized platform called Steemit.

The Power of this model is proven by products like Linux , Git , MySQL and VLC etc .
These softwares are known to everyone , accepted worldwide and used in real-time for daily purposes and leading the race to sky high.

There are endless reasons to accept this model because it provides you the boiler plate to start off instead of starting from bottom up , the thing is simple if you already have endless resources then why don’t you start exploiting them to make a change.

The projects are frequently hosted and published on websites like Launchpad , Bitbucket and GitHub.

The Eclipse Foundation :-
