As the term defines itself in a manner that open-source model is a decentralized software development model that encourages open collaboration and the good thing is that even @utopian-io is open source and built upon an decentralized platform called Steemit.

The Power of this model is proven by products like Linux , Git , MySQL and VLC etc .
These softwares are known to everyone , accepted worldwide and used in real-time for daily purposes and leading the race to sky high.

• The Document Foundation :-
The Document Foundation is a non-profit organization that promotes open-source document handling software and proud to be the home of LibreOffice, the next evolution of the world's leading free office suite.

• The Eclipse Foundation :-
The Eclipse Foundation is a not-for-profit, member supported corporation that hosts the Eclipse projects and helps cultivate both an open source community and an ecosystem of complementary products and services and know for world famous Eclipse java IDE.

• Free Software foundation :-
Free software is about having control over the technology we use in our homes, schools and businesses, where computers work for our individual and communal benefit, not for proprietary software companies or governments who might seek to restrict and monitor us.
• Linux Foundation :-
The Linux Foundation is dedicated to building sustainable ecosystems around open source projects to accelerate technology development and commercial adoption.

• OpenCourseWare (OCW) :-
MIT OpenCourseWare is an initiative of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology to put all of the educational materials from its undergraduate – and graduate-level courses online, freely and openly available to anyone, anywhere.
