Features SwpieView app must have.

What is the problem of this app?

Before knowing the problems of this app, let's know what this app can do. The app is a photo/video/gif viewer which you can use once selecting a folder from the memory of your device. That is all this app can do. So you can understand the problem here. Some basic features are missing and that need to be added for users to really download and use this app. If this is all this all does, then nobody will be bothered about it. Everyone can use their gallery apps to view photos or videos with a lot of functionality and ease.

How to improve and what to implement.

This app needs a lot of improvement for users to consider it. The app is missing some basic features like showing all the folders, that contain photos or videos, in the app, crop, rename, delete, share, etc. This app has all these features missing.

Features I'm suggesting

• The most important feature which is missing here is the availability of all your photos and videos in the app. Currently you can only select one folder at a time and then see the photos in it. Once you need some other pictures that aren't in the folder that is selected presently, you won't be able to see that unless you go back, find the folder your photo is in, and then select it and only then can you view it. For me this is the worst thing to have in an app. There should be access to view all the folders containing photos/videos in the app itself. And there should be a seamless switch between them without bothering to go back to your card memory and selecting a folder at once.

• Another thing that the app cannot do is edit a picture. This is a must have feature. You can crop a photo to fit it to your likes and preferences. You can rotate a photo right or left as needed. You can edit the contrast, saturation or the color as you like and save them the way you want to. You need an editor to give your photos a great look with different effects of color. And you need to have an option to resize your photos to downgrade or upgrade them as desired.

• A delete option should be implemented by the app. This can be very handy, for the files you don't need you can delete them when needed provide if you have a delete option implemented. So I'm suggesting this feature too. Also an option where you could see the info of a file and know the size, name, location of it.

• There's no option available to rename a file. The rename feature is very useful because your photos are usually named in numbers which you cannot remember and search them by. So having a rename feature to name files as you want them to will make you remember the files at first and then if you wish to search for a file when needed you can search by name and get the file without having to find it in your huge library.
  One more feature that I'd like to suggest if the share feature. You need to have a share feature in an app like SwpieView. Having this feature will make your sharing of files easier. You wouldn't be asked to go to your file manager and search your files and then share them to website or different platforms. You can directly share them through this app once this feature is implemented. This will surely save us a lot of time as well.

How would these features be implemented?

Current as I've shown above, the app actually does nothing apart from showing you picture of "single" folder. Honestly speaking this app is currently useless. Even the start slideshow option that's present in the app isn't working. So how do we improve? SwpieView can be made better once the features I suggested above are implemented in it and these features can be implemented making use of some current gallery apps and taking an idea from their implementation of these features to consider them.

And then the most important part and most important feature to have. Availability of all the folders so that we don't need to go through the hectic process of choosing a folder to see photos/videos and then to select another folder if we wish to see some other files which is very frustrating. The addition of this feature is worth a consideration.

These are some of the basic features which are present in almost all galleries. Thinking of this app as a gallery, as it does what a gallery app would do with a little functionality. You would really want these features to be included in the app for it to become a usable app at least. The benefits that these features have are immense as I've mentioned them above and their implementation will certainly see this app few more users. I believe these are some features worth consideration and should be made available by the app in its next version for it to keep up with the competition and the demand of the users.
