Some additional features for NewPipe

Components

NewPipe is an open source android app which is an alternative to YouTube. It is simple to use and has some amazing features as well. Some of these include popup feature and background play. It's simple and easy to use video player and a very good alternative for YouTube as well.

Proposal

As I mentioned in the content section this app is really nice to use with some really nice features but there are a few things missing in the app which I'll be proposing in this section.
When you open a video in NewPipe you will see these things in there which I've shown in the image below.

There are a couple of features that I'd like to see here.

• 1. Subscribe button and
• 1. Add to playlist button
     The subscribe button here is missing which is almost present in every YouTube alternative players and I'd like to see this in NewPipe too.
     The add to playlist button is also missing here which again would be a good addition to this app once implemented.
     In the section below I'll be showing the examples for both these features.

Mockups / Examples

In the image below I've shown how the subscribe button should look like. I have taken this from YouTube and I think it's the right placement of the button too.

Below I've shown the add to playlist button. It should be implemented in the player where you can get easy access to.

After clicking on that button you should be directed to a popup message where you can choose to add to any playlist you wish.

Benefits

The benefits of these features are:

• Subscription
  When you have a subscribe button you can choose to subscribe to any channel you wish. What this will do is it will make you never miss anything from your favorite channels as you will be notified everytime the channel posts any video. So you'll always be in touch with your channel that you don't want to miss any videos from.

• Add to playlist
  This feature is really very useful when you are using this app a lot for watching videos. You can sort or create groups for different kinds of videos you watch. It will make easier for you to look them up later when you wish to watch them again after you place them in playlists of their kind. For example you can create a playlist for education where you will only add video that have educational value, similarly a sport related or technology related videos might be saved in sports and tech playlists. This will ease the user overall and the experience on the app will be much better.

I'd like to see these features enabled in NewPipe soon.
