I'm not a big fan of large chat systems. Though I'm curious to see how Utopian will evolve. Again, I'm not against the principle, but as you say, "good intentions" are not sufficient.
I think I also observed the same kind of behavior in the Graphics space of Utopian. You could probably also shut down that one until you figure out how to prevent abuse. :)
We're working on that too, of course. If there's a chat space you prefer - let me know and I can reach you there. Also, you don't have to join the Utopian discord. You can reach me directly at techslut#5833 and I hang out on most steem discords - and there are dozens. I'll be happy to get your insights on whatever channel is comfortable for you.
It is my hope that these abuse issues will be done with by the end of this week so we won't have to pause contributions on another category but will instead eliminate abuse throughout utopian.
