The vaccine debate revisited.

Most people have heard the various vaccine debates in the media or online and while the subject is a complicated one, there are generally 3 positions taken by the public. Those that are pro, those that are anti and those who are not interested in the topic.

When I had my first child almost a decade ago, I was told my child would have to get several needles starting at just a few months old. This made me a little concerned not just about the needles but also the diseases they are used to prevent. Neither of which I was aware of or had to face until then.

I decided to put my fears away and do some research from all angles, trying get to a place where I understood the subject intimately enough to make an informed decision for my new family.

After reviewing all the material I could find, it was clear to me that both the pro and anti groups were lacking in real hard data to totally support their stance. I did however learn a great deal both sides and that the subject is not as black and white as it is presented by either side.

I decided that although there were several risks to the one size fits all vaccine program, it was indeed in my family’s best interest to have them and subsequently both my children went through the program. I will admit that I delayed starting the program until children were a bit older as things like weight and general health are not factored into the program.

My children are 8 and 9 years old now and have been generally healthy their whole lives. I have no regrets about the vaccine program they went through. The decision I made was for their health and safety and I did independent research to make my decision. Something I believe we should all do on most subjects we encounter.

Had my children been born now, I may have have a different stance. The new research I have found should be something all families, health care workers and governments should be looking into and bringing into the public forums. I ask you if you made it this far, to please watch the short video below and to share it with your friends, family and co-workers. If you have the time and inclination you may even forward it and petition to your health authority and members of government.

This issue needs to come back into the spotlight for all our benefit and without the bias taint that has previously been seen. I was was shocked to see the video only has a few thousand views, when it is such an important topic. The doctors and researchers have done their bit in bringing this to us, it is now up to us as to what we want done with it. Sweep it under the rug or bring it into a healthy discussion for the betterment of our society by serving the health of our children and ourselves.
