Check Valves is a types of valves that functions to regulate fluid (liquid or gas) flowing only in one direction, preventing back flow and is useful as a safety in the piping system.

The check valves works by utilizing the gravity and pressure difference of the fluid flow itself. So, in general, the check valve does not need a handle to open and close it.

In an industrial piping system, the check valves has many functions as a safety to prevent backflow which can result in fatal damage to systems and equipment.

Types of Check Valves

There are many types of check valves. Although they basically have the same function, several types of check valves have different uses and work methods. The following types of check valves are used in the piping system:

  2. Ball check valves
  3. Lift check valves
  4. Silent check valves
  5. Dual plate check valves
  6. Wafer check valves
  7. Y Spring check valves
  8. Stop check valves
