The first day of the Vegan experience

Last Night

Had to go grocery shopping last night, come to find out our first trip was not enough. A lot of things where overlooked that we thought we had but really didn't have. My wife found a really cool app in the play store, its called Is It Vegan. The app allows you to scan the bar code on an item and it will tell you if it is Vegan or Vegetarian. But we second guessed the app and ended up spending 2 hours in the grocery store. The app does seem to work pretty good. Here is what it looks like

Any ways, it's a pretty cool app. But on to the grocery haul, here is what we picked up.

Day 1:

Well today has been pretty good, although I have had. headache most of the day, I would assume this is from the lack of soda and caffeine. Lets go through the day and the food That we ate. Now I didn't not eat lunch today, sorry we where working in the yard and time slipped up on us.

Breakfast

Breakfast consisted of Fresh grapes, Apple and Almonds, with a glass of Almond milk.

Na, Just kidding. I bet some you said "I new he couldn't do it.

Dinner for real.

We had Tostadas with fat free refried beans and some orange shreded item that wouldn't melt, topped with lettuce and pico. They where actually pretty good. Here take a look.

Ray good buddy, I am really getting worried about you. You know you need that hamburger. Just one bite... just one! https://www.prevention.com/food/8-smoothie-recipes-coffee

Boy right now I could eat it in one bite. Thanks for the visit.

You seem to be on track great job, lets hope it plays out like this.

Ray... I found this one again for you: https://www.narayana-verlag.de/homoeopathie/pdf/How-Not-to-Die-Michael-Greger-Gene-Stone.20587_1.pdf

Strangely all these preachers don't look like the sexy good looking dude that all women just want to make long passionate love with.

YAY! Great work. Follow me for useful health information and tasty vegan recipes!

My advice: don't expect dairy or meat substitutes to taste like what they're substituting for. Taste them like you would a new food and decide their merit based on whether you like them, not what you hope they'll taste like. You'll like a lot more stuff that way.

You might want to try snacking on some nuts. I'm not a fan of peanuts but having to shell them helps you eat slow enough that you will know when you've eaten enough to satisfy and the larger brazil & other nuts will give your stomach a bit 'heavier' snack that takes longer to digest so it will stick with you longer than salad.
Again... Luck!

Thanks for the advice,

Good luck on your journey to becoming vegan. I'm hoping I'll get around to eating less meat soon. Those Tostadas looked great!

Nice post

Thanks

Good for you man on giving this vegan thing a try!

Thanks

I've been thinking about trying a vegan experiment with my family but have not yet got organised enough. I've started following you as I think I might use you as a guinea pig of sorts to see what sort of things I can expect should I take the plunge. Roll on day 2 !!

You should try it.

I don't think I could do this. I am a carnivore, and without meat I just never feel full lol. Good luck man, I know I wouldn't last one meal.

It's not beem bad so far, I am sure it will get worse.

Enormous props to invest in yourself with this change. You'll now be able to extend your life and buy much more silver for many more years. Now it's just about the commitment to the cause and relying on that vision when it's tempting to veer off course.

Thanks buddy

Those tostadas look absolutely delicious! Don't get me wrong a burger sounds good too, but those tostadas look much healthier! Good luck on your adventure! You can do it!

Thanks buddy, they say the first week is the hardest, but I think the first day was, i mean all of my neighbors where grilling out sunday which didn't help any

I bet those smells were intimidating! There is nothing more tempting than a steak on the grill. How did today go?

Well today was shitty, I need meat!!!!! But you know to get another 20 to 30 oz of silver by not eating meat for a month, i am down with it.

Oh buddy! If you're able to stack an extra 20-30 ounces per month DO IT!!!

That was the main reason😉

Good on you. The wife and I went vegan for a little over a month, but since decided to just stick with vegetarian. Although, we still prefer the vegan mayo and almond/coconut milk. You're right on with the vegan "cheese. It smells like feet which is good if it were cheese. And, it tastes like.... Well, I'm not exactly sure what it tastes like, lmao.

Anyway, the best of luck to y'all!

Thanks buddy, yeah I wont be buying anymore vegan cheese.

I can also tell you that I wasn't impressed with the vegan "sour cream". It is another mystery flavor/consistency.

Thanks I will take it off of the list.

The "Follow Your Heart" smoked gouda vegan cheese is really delicious. The best tasting vegan cheese in my and my husband's opinion. Have you heard of Dr. Robert Morse? He has literally hundreds of videos on Youtube. He is a wealth of information. You may want to check him out. He'll remind you why you want to stay away from consuming dairy and dead animals.

Hey thanks, I will check him out.

Keep up the great work... mexican and asian food stylings seem like good vegan options / peace

They really do, having fried brown rice for dinner tonight. Thanks for dropping by

Very cool that you're doing this. Those tostadas looked delicious btw!

Thanks buddy, they where good.

You're a brave man and a good husband for doing this with your wife! I kind of want to try whole 30, but have no interest in going vegan for 30 days! Good luck!
