Meathead to Veghead and how it saved my wellbeing.

(One year ago 190lbs, strong but miserable and suffering from major digestion problems)

I'm pretty sure we've all head of the term "meathead."
Someone who spends countless hours purely obsessed with one solid goal and that's to look as muscular as humanly possible.

Now, while that's all fine and good and as much I respect the incredible work ethic that is involved in such a task I also have to mention the health effects it takes on certain people.

For me this is exactly what manifested. After 4 years of killing it in the gym and eating 6 meals consisting of huge portions of animal proteins I started to feel the effects.

  1. Exhaustion
  2. Digestion issues
  3. Stomach pains
  4. Severe bloating
  5. Excessive weight gain

What most people don't know is that animal protein is the single most hardest thing for our digestive system to break down. And I mean it takes a serious toll! Multiply that by x6 a day and badaboom you have a recipe for problems down the road.

I learned this the hard way and ended up taking every measure possible before switiching my diet to plant based which ultimately ended up saving my health and well being.

The reason being for this is because when our bodies have to work extra hard to break something down it STRESSES it out to no end. Fruits and vegetables break down easily because they are easy digestible foods!

So anyone of you experiencing any of those problem listed above maybe try switching your diet and see how you start feeling. I would of never guessed that was the ultimate culprit but long story short I feel more amazing then I've ever felt in my entire life. All thanks to switching to a Whole Foods Plant based diet.

(Me currently 150lbs, no digestive problems)

Some books I highly recommend if wanting more info on the subject are "Forks over knives", "The china study", and "How to not die."

I hope this helps anyone looking for some sort of solution to their digestion issues, I know it's a literal pain.

Thanks everyone xoxo, Skye!
