Thank you @allasyummyfood!!!

When I seen @allasyummyfood recipe for 'Raw Vegan Chocolate Truffles', I new I had to give these a try!! I often crave chocolate but don't always have something ready and available to satisfy that craving .. These raw truffels, if easy enough to make, may be just the thing .. So I figured I would give these a try and rate the ease and taste of these yummy truffles .

Here is the link to @allasyummyfood post so that you can visit her and confirm this recipe :) She has a lot of great recipes that you may want to try.

This is my finished product :)

Everything for this recipe I was able to get at the local grocery story .. Dates, cacao, maple syrup, almond extract, coconut oil, flaked coconut, walnuts, goji berries, and orange (for the zest).

@allasyummyfood recipe called for the following:

For the truffle:
2 cups soft dates
2-3 tablespoons cacao powder
2 tablespoons maple syrup
2 tablespoons coconut oil
1 teaspoon almond extract

For the add-ins and add-ons:
Handful of chopped walnuts
Flaked coconut
Goji berries
Cacao powder (in addition to what is in the truffle)
Orange zest

These are the items for the truffle

I used a food processor for my truffle recipe - according to @allasyummyfood post, you could also use a high powered blender. I have both a food processor and a blender but chose to use the food processed for this recipe.

I have a Cuisinart food processor - funny thing about this is I am one of the world worst cooks (should be) and I have the best food processor you can get :)

Into the food processor went the dates and the cacao powder - blend until as creamy as you can get it.

Once it is blended real good, you add in the coconut oil, maple syrup and almond extract. @allasyummyfood did not mention when to add the almond extract in her post .. I assumed you added it at the same time as the coconut oil and maple syrup. Blend it all together until well blended and smooth .. this is what it looked like.

I then separated the truffle mixture into 4 equal portions .. this is because you will be creating 4 different truffle creations :)

This is all of the truffle mixture along with the add-ins/add-ons

You then mix some of the add-ins into each portion of the truffle mixture .. for instance:
Truffle mixture with coconut flakes
Truffle mixture with goji berries
Truffle mixture with walnuts
Truffle mixture -don't mix anything with this one as you will coat with cacao powder and orange zest

The 4 separate truffle mixtures with add-ins along with small amounts of add-ons :)

Now the fun stuff!!!! Time to create the truffles :)

Roll a small amount of each of the truffle mixture into balls .. you don't want to make these very big .. small ones are perfect. Roll the truffles into the appropriate add-ons .. Your creations should look like this.

This recipe made 20 truffles .. I got the same amount out of mine that @allasyummyfood got out of hers it looks like :)

I know, there are only 16 on the plate .. I had to have my hubby Tony try each of them for the official taste test.

DRUM ROLL PLEASE!!!!

Tony's favorite in order of his preference:

  1. Truffle with walnuts - I knew he would pick this one 1st, he loves nuts
  2. Truffle with goji berries
  3. Truffle with coconut
  4. Truffle with cacao powder and orange zest

My favorite was the truffle with cacao powder and orange zest - something about chocolate and orange that just goes really well together - SUPER Yummy!!!

I have the 16 remaining truffles in the refrigerator for 1 hour and cannot wait for later today to have a few .. I plan to share a few with my neighbor :)

This is a really easy recipe and should only take approximately 30-45 minutes to make total from start to finish. It took me longer of course because of photos. As far as the taste of these truffles - they are absolutely delicious!! I am for sure going to make these again.

Thank you for visiting today Friends .. I look forward to the next GREAT idea I will try here on Steemit :) Thank you @allasyummyfood for sharing your recipe with us all.
