My newest article, published by the great independent media outlet Truthout, explains the real intentions underlying #US denouncements of human rights violations in #Venezuela:
The US has systematically branded any political action as illegitimate and dictatorial if it is unfavorable to the US-backed opposition, while any action that empowers these groups is synonymous with the "will of the Venezuelan people."
The intention is to use human rights as a "cudgel" to "pressure and outmaneuver" the targets of US imperialism, in order to "make the world safe for American businesses" in "our little region over here."
