If you are wondering what is happening in this beautiful country located in South America which is supposed to be so rich because of its massive oil resources and minerals that no other country has the privilege to enjoy and you are desperate to really get good information from a fellow Venezuelan who is suffering the consequences, well you came to the right blog. My name is Renzo Zambrano. I'm a 35-year-old guy living in Venezuela and I would like to keep you updated about everything that is going on in my country.
My country Venezuela is living a complete and pure dictatorship. This situation that my country is going through has been the worse of all in the history of my nation. Everything started with the regime of Hugo Chavez whom like every other politician promised he was going to change things around making Venezuelan a potential and richer country. Chavez won the elections with a recognizable percentage of votes due to his charisma, personality and his spontaneous way of talking, so most Venezuelans believed in his words. My country was going through a difficult situation but not as bad and debastating as it is right now. Chavez began his government in 1995 by changing things around but not like the way he promised us. It was the beginning of the cruel disaster my country Venezuela was going to face. During his regime, Chavez took over main important industries from the private area which were a big part of the Venezuelan economy making them not functional. Also, the oil prices got so low like never before contributing to this economic crisis thanks to the horrifying ideas Chavez and his cabinet had in store. Chavez also was given out resources for free to other countries without even noticing the impact that all these decisions were going to make to my country bringing Venezuela to a real catastrophe.
All these resolutions from Hugo Chavez were affecting us Venezuelans in our daily lives. High increasing of jobless people, the inflation rates were going high which promoted a Venezuela full of crime and desperation. There was food by that time but since the inflation was affecting us it was just hard to live and going to the supermarket became a cruel reality seeing how high the prices were at that time which did not cope with the monthly salary.
As years went by the situation was getting worse and Chavez was taking more power. He changed our National Constitution to remained in the power and the Army turned over Venezuelan citizens who were just fed up about the situation and start protesting on the streets filled with hope and claiming a new government.
Chavez finds out that he got really ill from cancer so he asked his followers on National television to vote for Nicolas Maduro because he knew he was not going to survive. He departed to Cuba to get treatment but it was too late. Maduro became the new President of Venezuela and takes control of the country but the inexperience of Maduro was glowing brighter than the sun cause we Venezuelans know Maduro was just a bus driver. So this inexperience of Maduro has made the country a living nightmare making many Venezuelans leave the country because living in Venezuela at the moment is unbearable.
Maduro has been taking economic decisions that he even doesn't have an idea of what he talks about. The oil prices got to its lowest point in history. Many potential industries have shut down their doors making no internal production in which has made super difficult to find the products we all need such a food and medicines. The hospitals in Venezuela are in their worse conditions. Doctors complain of not having the material to work and be able to attend patients who is important to mention that many have died due to the lack of medicines.
Nicolas Maduro has become a worse dictator than Chavez was. He is totally out of his mind and he is the biggest disgrace ever and my country does not deserve all this. For me and my family has been very difficult to live day by day. My salary got reduced to $15 a month thanks to the hyperinflation (the highest in the world) which has made it so incredibly hard to cope and many Venezuelans are skipping meals and losing weight like crazy because there is no money or enough food to get!
