The executive secretary of the IACHR, Paulo Abrão, stressed that the countries "have tried different measures" to receive Venezuelan migration
In the framework of the next General Assembly of the Organization of American States (OAS), to be held next week in Washington, the Woodrow Wilson Center for Studies, sponsored this Friday, a meeting of experts and representatives of different social entities to analyze the palliatives to Venezuelan migration.
The executive secretary of the IACHR, Paulo Abrão, insisted that the migration motivated by the crisis in Venezuela is "a priority issue" for the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights, and reiterated the seriousness of the humanitarian situation, according to Efe.
"We must seek a regional strategy to respond to the negative effects of the migration crisis, it is a shared responsibility," said the executive secretary of the IACHR.
Abrão stressed that the countries "have tried different measures" to receive Venezuelan migration, which are working reasonably, but insisted that we must "modulate" the response according to international standards.
