Sun Spots Foretell Our Future Weather With Observations Over Hundreds Of Years

in veterans •  6 years ago  (edited)

The sun controls our climate. Once again, more looking at the past to predict the future. Bundle up folks its going to be a cold ride! Hopefully we can see a return to responsible debate on the topic of weather as opposed to the wild eyed activists shouting down the "deniers".

Chuckie learned a new word today. The harsh winter that precedes Ragnorok. Maybe, but I'm not connecting with the Dems line. I'm a little out of gas right now. I started a water fast yesterday and hope to go 7 days. This is my first extended day fast since my stroke. I just got under 200# by the way.

I'm considering a water fast myself.
twenty four hour perhaps or is that too short to be useful.
Congratulations on the 200lb

Thanks for the congrats! If you are diabetic and take drugs for it they need to be monitored for reduction and elimination. Dr. Jason Fung wrote a book The Complete Guide to Fasting and runs a clinic in Toronto, Ontario. He does a 7 day and 14 day fast for curing type II diabetes. If you don't have diabetes fasting won't be an issue. A while back I joined a Facebook Water Fasting group with 30K+ members. It has kept me busy. I've read where real therapeutic benefit starts after 5 days, but people experience some wonderful benefits with Intermittent fasting or OMAD (one meal a day). The author of The Carbohydrate Addicts Diet lost 200 pounds using OMAD which included a restaurant sized meal with dessert. To heal itself the body requires rest from digestion. I don't think you need long fasts to do it.

I have type II.
Hell I was eating One Meal a Day for over twenty years while I was trucking. Everyone said it was bad for me. I caved under pressure. Look what happened.

Water fasting really does arrest type II, if you are taking insulin or metformin you will need to cut back on it as your insulin sensitivity improves and it will do so quite rapidly. Join the water fasting group on Facebook and crowd source for answers. Dr. Jason Fung wrote a book called the Obesity Code. He also wrote The Complete Guide to Fasting which is the best of the purchased books that I have read. I have not read the Obesity Code. The Complete Guide... is a free read on the water fasting group home page under "Files" on the left of the page. The best book I've read on the therapeutic use of fasting is by Dr. Herbert Shelton. It's a free read at: http://loveandtruth.net/shelton-fasting.html
I take a more Paleo approach to fasting. There are people that throw a lot of rules at it like prep for a fast, what to do with yourself during a fast, how to end a fast, and on and on. I just look at what our Paleo ancestors would have done about going without food until they found or killed something. I'm entering my 3 day of zero calories. Today hunger pangs will leave me. Tomorrow will be a euphoric feeling like I can conquer any challenge as long as I don't have to run very fast : ) The fifth day and on will be about 80% of what I felt on the 4th day. Already my benign prostatic hypertrophy has abated some. I can't quite pee like I did as a young man, but with the progress my body has made so far, I'm hoping for a water cannon by Thursday. The main thing about fasting is anxiety from the fear of it. Too many people want to jump into it without doing their homework. There are side effects that if you are not aware of could send you running to the refrigerator when they are actually normal and should be expected.

Given the knowledge I have about what to expect makes fasting for me, after the first three days, a surprisingly pleasant experience. You begin to see why religions embrace it and recommend it for the faithful. Obviously, that is not a reason to shun it.

Dr. Fung has some youtube videos of the information in the Obesity Code book in several episodes. The guy makes sense and backs it up with physiological data.
