The battle royale problem. is it destroying the video gaming industry

Hello steemIt citizens so today I want to share a view I have on videos games but focusing on the battle royale genre so let’s begin.

THE PROBLEM WITH BATTLE ROYALE: so let’s jump straight in what’s the problem well there isn’t a problem with the genre it self the problem is what game developers and doing so right now on the PS4 we have Fortnite, H1Z1, player unknowns battlegrounds, Apex legends, realm royale, call of duty blackout, and many more across the PC and Xbox and it isn’t the games each individual game has its pros and cons in gameplay and a lot of these games are tons of fun however it’s starting to damage the gaming industry.

WHATS THE PROBLEM?
The problem is party because of the success of the Battle royale genre/mode and a lot of huge blockbuster games have started to implement their versions of battle royale modes and it’s taking away from what the video games once where I feel call of duty got hurt the most in this as they decided to ditch the campaign and the campaign was always call of duty’s strong points to there games and to have a campaign cut out for a game mode that not everyone likes is a huge decision.

MICRO TRANSACTIONS: this is a another big problem in video games years ago you buy a game for £40 now you buy the game for £40 but have to pay another £X amount for content (DLCs) the problem that links this to battle royale is the customisation of characters take fortnite for an example they have a currency called Vbucks this is purchased with real money you can purchase a battle pass or a certain skin now judged on how often you play is what will decide for you if it’s worth it.

Overall the battle royale genre is focused on micro transactions income and yes developers need income to make the game better but their are a few games that just add micro transactions and don’t fix the glitches, bugs that prevent people enjoying the game.

So what’s my overall view on the battle royale genre? I feel the battle royale genre/mode is amazing and the best games that show it is player unknown and fortnite 100 people find loot and kill last man standing wins sounds great and is great however due to the success and the micro transactions problem its hindering the industry yes the big developers are making the money but they feel that they have to implement this mode into each game and it takes away from what the game used to be. Change is amazing in games but this is slightly to far with every video game now having a battle royale variation.

It’s amazing to see each variation of battle royale and I love the genre myself however I feel in the long term it will be the future every video game will feature a battle royale variation.

Thank you very much for reading I hope you enjoyed I would love to hear all you’re thoughts so please leav some feedback 😃
