Whether you love YouTube or are transitioning to DTube, I want to share a quick, easy, but super effective tip to boost your video or film traffic.
Are you ready for it?
Level the audio! Please!
What I mean is, please playback your video before you publish it. Make sure that your audio levels are consistent from segment to segment.
This is especially true if you love doing documentary-style YouTube or DTube videos.
Nothing is more jarring than listening to a segment at a lower volume level, then jacking up your internal volume level to hear the segment, and then...
BRRRRRAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!
Holy smokes! You about shit your pants while you desperately swing at your speakers or your volume adjuster to turn the audio down.
Seriously guys (and gals...although it's mostly dudes that do this)...PLEASE check the consistency of your volume output.
You would think it is basic, but there's some very amateur guys out there; thats the beauty of YouTube it turned the average person into a video producer

I am pretty good with Adobe Audition. What program do you use to level your audio?
And yes, I like to work with headphones on. And if an audio signal is too loud or has too much "noise", I rip off the headphones!
