Below is an informative video on the concept by 3Blue1Brown, an excellent YouTuber who explains a lot of mathematical concepts to his viewers. In this one, he goes into detail on the concept of how Cryptocurrencies (and cryptographic functions) work, explained well enough that I think most anyone could understand it.
