Star Wars - The Phantom Moment

Are there any"great" cinematic moments in STAR WARS: The Phantom Menace?

At this point I believe it’s almost universally agreed upon that the Star Wars Prequels are flawed films at best. The topic of how bad these films are has been discussed countless times across a multitude of different platforms.

But that’s not why I made my video.

I made my video to shine a light on the genuine passion and creativity employed in the making of The Phantom Menace; and to answer my earlier question, how this dumpster fire of a film does have a truly great cinematic moment.

So please, join me on this discovery of the best moment from STAR WARS: Episode I -

Editing a Visual Love Letter

It takes me a tremendous amount of time to write and edit my videos. My methodology is slow, laborious, cumbersome, leaden, arduous, ponderous, time consuming and most of all, repetitive. The only solace I take from my stubborn working routine is that the results will be slick, humours and visually pleasing.

A lot of my inspiration for creating these videos comes from the nostalgia I feel towards the media I love the most. And one of my primary goals is to impart some of that fondness for either a film or video game onto my viewers. But, you’ll have to be the judge as to whether or not I’ve succeeded.

One of the ways in which I attempt to achieve this goal is through my editing.

It’s a long process.

Why do it?

We all have a unique and very personal perspective on the things we love, and there’s something truly wonderful about seeing someone express that passion to others. For some people there’s a need to do this, to show people why something is worth cherishing, why it’s worth their time. I too have this need. I spend a stupendous amount time editing and refining my videos because I want to ensure I’ve fully encapsulated how I feel and think about what I’m passionate about. Plus, it doesn’t hurt to throw in a couple of jokes and a little entertainment along the way.

The exploration of ideas can be made all the more powerful when married with visuals and audio, it’s a way to hot-wire the brain and help people see your train of thought a lot more clearly. So why not strive to create the clearest vision of representing your thoughts?

Thank you

For reading to the end. For watching my video. For subscribing to my YouTube channel and sharing my videos as much as you humanly can… (please.)

I’d love to hear your thoughts on my video, this post and anything really.

Thank you,
Ben
