-10. Brütal Legend (Xbox 360, PS3, PC, Linux, OSX)
Too much could be said for Brütal Legend, starring a fantastic cast of amazing Characters with even better voice actors, Jack Black, Ozzy Osbourne, Rob Halford, Lemmy, the list goes on. With amazing gameplay and beautiful landscapes based off of metal, this hilarious game will have you intrigued from start to end.
-9. Singularity (Xbox 360, PS3, PC)
Too little should be said about Singularity. It's an FPS more a-kin to Bioshock, with it's mix of 'powers' and guns. I feel like saying anymore would spoil a lot of the fun :)
-8. Darksiders (Xbox 360, PS3, PC.)
Do you like the sound of a Legend of Zelda/Devil May Cry mashup based around the story of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse in the Book of Revelation? This game is for you.
-7. Yakuza 3, 4, 5. (PS3)
The title is pretty self explanatory. You play as a Yakuza Member, in the daily life of the Yakuza. It's more story focussed than Action/Beat'em'up, however the further the game goes on, the more action there is, and the more shit there is to do. Renowned for having endless amounts of mini-games, side quests, random things to interact with in the world, it's definitely got it's bang for your buck.
-6. Axiom Verge (PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, Xbox One, Wii U, PC, Linux, Mac OS)
LAZERS, BIG GUNS, EXPLOSIONS! Are you a Metroid, and/or a Metroidvania fan? Oh, you are? Okay buy this.
....Yeah, seriously, that's all I have to say about it. That's all there is to say about it.
-5. Lost Odyssey (Xbox 360)
JRPG made by the creator of Final Fantasy, Hironobu Sakaguchi. While it plays more old school JRPG than the recent Final Fantasies, it's not something that should be ignored. With an absolutely beautiful engrossing story, and a world that will take your breath away, it's hard to ignore this title once you pick it up. Not to mention the Camera Angles, especially in battle. Really hoping this one goes Backwards-Compatible soon!!!
-4. Gun (Xbox 360, PlayStation 2, PC, Xbox, PlayStation Portable, GameCube)
Gun is an interesting situation. It came out at roughly the same time as the next generation of consoles were coming out, so people were more interested in games that were pushing the limits. Gun snuck under the radar at this time, and besides generally getting a lot of reception, was mostly ignored by the gaming public as Red Dead Revolver recently itched that itchy itch of Western very recently. And any chance this game had at making a cult comeback, was shot in the foot and left for dead near a cactus, when Red Dead Revolver's sequel, Red Dead Redemption came out. RIP GUN.
-3. Beyond Good and Evil (PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PlayStation 2, Xbox, GameCube, PC)
My go-to game for when people say that there aren't any good video games in which a badass female Character isn't sexualized. Great story, impossibly amazing gameplay for a multi-platform title back then (seriously, it feels very similar to a faster paced Wind Waker), and it takes inspiration from a lot of your favourite titles. This is a must buy for any gamer, especially gaming fathers/mothers trying to get their kids, especially daughters, into video games. :)
-2. Psychonauts (PC, Xbox, PlayStation 2)
I KNOW, I KNOW. It's oversaid/overdone in Underrated top 10s, but how could I leave this off of the list? I tried to, I really really did, as I knew I'd get some shit for having it on here but I just HAD TO. If I were to say anything other than 'A bunch of kids go to summer camp to hone their psychic powers', it would ruin a lot of the fun.
-1. No More Heroes (Wii, remastered for the PS3 however the visuals got a little fucked, Highly suggest picking up the Wii version above the PS3 version)
I cannot recommend ANY of these games enough. Specifically No More Heroes, though. Go buy it. Yes, like now.
How did you think my Top 10: Underrated (Modern) Video Games stacked up? If you have any suggestions, or if I missed anything, feel free to make a post in the comment section below! :D

I recently picked up Insurgency on Steam when it was discounted to $2. Fairly hardcore military FPS in a smilar vein to CoD, BF, Arma, etc. Still has a active community with upwards of a thousand players online at a time. Played the hell out of it for a month, now I'm onto the Witcher 3 (but nobody ever said that was underrated.. in fact, it's turning out to be one of the best games I've ever played in my 25 year gaming history!)
